They work

What else can you say. I bought these headphones a year ago and I used them for 6 months of recording. Drums, vocals, and guitar. I didn't have any problem with them. They are comfortable enough for me to wear all day with only minor discomfort. They completely eliminated the "bleed" of click tracks and other artifacts. Recordings made with these on were clean and crisp. Not only that, but you also get a more clear picture of what is actually recording, since your ears are more isolated you don't hear what is in the room as much and what is "in the wires" is much more clear. Bottom line is, they work, they lasted long enough for me to get plenty of value out of them. I would recommend these to anyone who was attracted to them and found them in-budget.

When I first got these headphones in January, I complained about how uncomfortable they were. Now that it's June, I can complain about how they no longer work. What a waste of money.

Good headphones, reasonable price

These are great headphones. Passive noise attenuation (not active) combined with really good speakers that draw almost no electricity from my little digital device make these perfect for piano class (18 students on keyboards and lots of noise) or car travel (while I practiced choral music along with a recording). I love 'em!

Do they actually make their own headphones now???

I have one of their original models. They sounded pretty good at first. Isolation is great—29dB attenuation. I'd taken great care of them... But, The headband snapped after a couple years. The earcups wore out and started coming unglued. I recalled these were replaceable so I tried peeling the rest off. Instead the case also snapped apart. What do you know? The strain relief on the outside is a facade. The cord goes a little further to some average round, rest-on-top-of-ear headphones— complete with the plastic chassis. Don't buy these. You can make better ones yourself in the garage.

These are great 'phones for what I need. I can't speak as a drummer, but for someone recording drummers - stick an extension cord on these and get a better idea of what your mics are hearing as you move them about the kit. The cord is a good length - better to use an ext cord when I need extra, than to deal with 20 feet of extra cord when I don't. They are solidly built and have experienced no component failure in 2.5 years. In addition to keeping room sound out, they also contain playback sound better than other 'phones I've used - you can put these on a vocalist without fear of leaking into the vocal mic, even at relatively high volume levels. Tonally, they are a bit darker and a little less "open sounding" than my Sennheisers - but for the purpose, that is a very small trade-off for me. At the same time, they sound much less brittle than other 'phones at this price or less. I would use something different for very critical listening (mix referencing, etc). But I use these for general purpose home listening as well with no qualms.
