The high-performance Dynaudio BM5A Powered Studio Monitor's are the best bang for the buck I have come across while I was doing my research.

I have over 25 years in the music business, as music director for several major market radio stations, I have over 34 gold and platinum album awards for hearing hits. I'm used to hearing hit music five days a week four hours a day. My ears are tuned to the best quality radio studio monitors, usually JBL, powered by some industrial strength Crown amps. I'm not giving you this run down for my ego, it's so you'll know I have an opinion and it's a strong one...so you need to know where it's coming from.

These BM5A's are the best monitors in this price range period. Of course you will go out and do your own research and listening...and when you do, perhaps this review will cross your mind. After listening to thirty different pairs I started to get confused. I have owned these monitors for over three years and I love them now as much as I did when I first bought them, so they wear well and I have absolutely no regrets about buying them. Frankly nothing has come down the road in their class that's any better. If you really want to blow your mind get the sub that is available with this pair of Bad Boys. They are built like a tank, they sound just how they should sound for mixing, tracking, recording, critical listening whatever.

comes in a very compact design and it is extremely well-suited for production environments where space is a concern. The BM5A is well-suited for music monitoring and mixing, broadcasting, OB vans, edit suites, playback suites, project studios, and smaller post-production facilities.

I just bought these for my iPod and they work great!!! I also have them connected to my PC, but they have to be a good distance away as their magnets mess with the screen. I heard about a coming Dynaudio MC15 which is the same thing as this speaker but comes with a cheap grille. You can buy XLR adapters online if you want to connect to an iPod.

so i got these this weekend after having worked on m-audio bx5's for the past 7 years... what a step up!!! i had been considering the KRK V8's for a while, but i read some stuff online and everyone seemed to love the bm5a over the v8. i went and tested them both out for about 3 hours and settled on these. i'm hearing stuff in my music that i've never noticed before! def. a great buy for a pretty nice price. get them. you won't be disappointed.

I was set in stone on buying the Mackie HR824s because they got great reviews and everything. I went to a local music store with money expecting to leave with the mackies... but i got so much more. I compared the mackies and all the other moniters to these Dynaudio BM5A and i was blown away. Let me just say this. There is no right or wrong in a studio, it's all about what sounds good to your ears. i sat there switching back and forth between monitors and the Dynaudio BM5A's just sounded better. i was so suprized. they have a real nice sound without spicying up anything so what it sounds like is what it is. if you get anything outta this... here it is. go and test out what monitors sound good to your ears, and buy those. i freaking love these.

I researched monitors under $1000 for months. These won. They are both comfortable and accurate. You can listen all day and still know what you are getting. Don't listen to all the hype. I play indie rock but these would be great for R&B and Hip Hop. Great value, go ahead compare to ADAM's. But trust your ears.
