Incredible Sound Card and Software

I cannot believe the quality of this product, the software and the excellent Tech Support with this product. It is best bang for the buck with all the ins/outs on this, plus it is great sounding as well. E-MU also has 64 bit drivers on their website for XP x64 which is hard to find for anyone else out there. E-MU is ON TOP of their game with this card. The software is like a mixer in itself and is very powerful - it is not a toy or a simple plug in card, though, so novices will have to spend a few hours understanding how it works. For intermediate users you will be GREATLY satisfied. I intend to buy another for an additional computer system. It also comes with excellent trial/limited version software. To top it off, its compatibility, price, and performance is OUTSTANDING. BUY IT!!!

Took a while to finally get it working, but no problems since. Comes with all the software you need to get started but you might want to upgrade eventually. Records nice and quiet. Granted, there are better cards out there, but defiantly not at this price.

E-MU 1212M

The E-MU 1212M is OK but my left audio IP has become distorted and effectively useless. The mixer is stupid and defies anyone with less than a 144 IQ. The included software only works with certain setups. Gives good playback quality.

Decent Card for the Price

It's pretty good, routing was a bit cryptic at first but a Tech Support (which is Excelent) helped me out. Made lots of sense. Very flexible after you get the hang of it. Problem on this card is the lack of analog outs. Right and left...thats it. Way to lean if you want to go to more then just a set of monitors. Digital outs are good if you got that kinda gear. (not me) I didn't really find the software usefull as far as passing off effects onto the card, It was to much hastle to switch in and out of Sonar to make it all happen. I was able to push the latency down to 2ms recording 8 tracks without a hitch (i like that). This is a good card if your a cheapskate like me. I had to go with the 1818 though for headphones and analog outs to my PA. I also like the blue card. It's a cool touch if your a PC moder.

I own this thing....

I've had this blasted thing since April 2005, or I should say 3 of them. The first one had parts rattling around in the box, and I dared not install it. 2nd one worked for about 2 mos., then the left analog output died. Now the 3rd one has quit altogether. No signal passes at all. Tech support was insistent my computer was at fault (I installed the 1212 in a different computer just to humor them, and it didn't work on it either), so I pitched the whole mess in the trash. I replaced it with a ProTools system, and now everything works just fine. When the unit worked it had excellent quality, maybe a bit excessive noise in the background.
