I recently upgraded my wife's music computer and OS to a AMD Phenom II Quad w/8 Gigs and Vista Ultimate 64bit. My wife is a pianist, bandleader, and professional composer/lyricist using Sibelius. I am a Sound Designer, so this is a critical piece of equipment. I purchased the E-MU Xmidi, because Vista doesn't support game ports like Win2000/XP.

Anyway download the new Vista driver from the Emu website. Installation was mindlessly plug-'n-play as the E-MU driver installed. After a reboot, Sibelius recognized our MIDI workstation instantaneously, and it was off to the races. Highly affordable solution to your Vista 64 USB MIDI cable needs. Since it is being used in a studio, it will not be abused, but beware that it might be rather fragile for field use. Hope this is useful!

Just plug it in your PC and your controller and you're set! The driver that comes doesn't support Vista but make sure to run in "Compatible with XP SP2" if Vista doesn't recognize it by itself already. I haven't had any problem with this cable so far. Good buy for musicians who just want to connect their keyboard/desk and nothing more.

This cable is simply amazing. It hooks up very easily and is installed simply by hooking it up and entering an ID# from the box. The speed is amazing, even when I'm using it on a 2-year old laptop running MIDI programs from 2002, hah. I also like the green light signals.

If you're looking for a MIDI-USB cable, look no further. This one is great for a great price.

Works wonderfully for me. Took 2 minutes to install at most. I'm running Windows XP Pro on Reason and Cakewalk Sonar through a Nord Electro 2, and this interface runs very smoothly. Cable is a good length too if you have a big desk/workspace.
