The Echo Indigo IOx fits your laptop and offers one stereo 1/8" analog input and output. The interface combines this with 24-bit/96kHz converters for more robust audio quality. Also included is a 6' audio cable for RCA or 1/4" connections enabling connectivity to the Apple iPod and other MP3 players. The Indigo IOx features PCI Express performance so it's ASIO, WDM, GSIF and WaveRT compatible and fits your notebook's Expresscard Slot. A unique feature of the Indigo IOx is the use of "virtual" outputs. Indigo IOx appears to software as if it has eight separate outputs, which are digitally mixed down to the physical outputs using Indigo IOx's console software and its on-board DSP. This makes the Echo Indigo IOx compatible with all popular multitrack software. And, with Echo's multiclient drivers, more than one application (such as an editor and a software synth) can be playing back through the Indigo IOx interface at the same time.

This thing does what it says it does. I did not own the first version of this soundcard, but in hindsight, I should have bought it instead of putzing around with USB driven components that I wasted mucho money on.

I almost wanted this thing to fail, because I expected it to, like everything else, but no, it really can track music. Finally I can play guitar along with my vocals and whatnot in real time on my laptop. It's all I ever wanted, (now watch it breaks), it makes my laptop with it's crappy soundcard have low-enough latency that I don't notice it, and I can finally take advantage of real time recording and editing and monitoring with my laptop.

I hate reviews because I think they are all written by sales reps, but this is not one of those. This thing has made my laptop like my 4 track only with unlimited tracks. No BS.

Use ASIO settings on whatever program you want. I use Mixcraft 4 because WHAT ELSE?? This card answered my prayers. I used to record on a digital recorder and import them into my computer!!! No More! I record direct through this card into my program AND IT WORKS!!!

I waited until I messed with this thing for a week before I wrote a review, and I aint lying, it tracks. Really loooow latency. cant notice any delay. It works!
