I ordered this mic because I often work with singers with very edgy or sometimes nasally voices, and it's usually heavy rock, which means that alot of times, an LDC just has too much of an open feel and doesn't like to sit well in the mix. I have tried various dynamics on these voices, but they tend to further accent any nasal quality in a voice, so I wanted something that would be as smooth as a good condenser, yet darker. Boy, did I find it with this mic. It really gives the vocal track a warmth, presence, and intimacy that I haven't gotten from any other mic. Granted it needs a fairly hefty HF boost (usually a +5 dB shelf at 4-5 kHz), but the end result is just gorgeous. You can literally feel it wrap around a vocal and just make every little nuance of the track very pleasing to listen too, and the recorded signal feels 10 times bigger than anything you could record with a dynamic. It probably isn't the best all-purpose mic in the world, but for those voices that really need that extra something, it does a fantastic job.
