I got these mics because I got tired of singers trashing my SM58's. I figured I would get a few of these to use for the bands that I know will trash my mics. I was excited when they arrived, they are packaged nice, with a nice zippered pouch and a decent mic clip. The Mic has decent weight to it. So i hooked it up right away to check it out. I must say I was sort of disappointed. EV has always made phenomenal products, but this mic is not up to their standards in my opinion. The sound is decent, not a lot of low end, but the highs are clear and there is sufficient midrange. The biggest disappointment was the "Handling" Noise. Just holding on to this mic creates a lot of noise. These will be relegated to staying on a stand. If you mount them, and leave them, they will be fine. But if you have a singer that likes to handle the mic, or is constantly adjusting it in the stand, just be aware that it will make noise through the system. All in all, not a bad mic for the price, but nowhere near the sm58 "standard". If you need some cheap mics, these sound better than most, but dont expect it to be as good as a shure.

This mic was purchased as an extra mic to have on hand. The handling noise is high but this mic sounds good if it stays on a stand.

Good Live Fiddle Mic!

I have used these mics for about 2 years now. They are very good for male vocals. I mainly use mine however, to mic my fiddle in live settings. Being a dynamic mic it doesn't present the feedback issues condensors can when used live, but it has a wider frequency response than most dynamics (50hz - 18khz.)That added response on the high end helps bring out those overtones that are so important to reproducing a good fiddle sound. I think I am going to also try the Co4 which is the "instrument" version of this mic with the smaller windscreen.
