This Beats the SM 58 for Me

After using Shure SM 58s for 20 years, I switched to the 767 after I noticed how hot and clear my two lead singers' EV mics were compared to my SM 58. I have used the 767 mic now for the past couple of years and I'm totally satisfied. As a secondary lead singer and backup vocalist with a deep and sometimes muddy voice, this product is perfect for my hobbyist needs.

I have been using beta 58's and Sennheisers for the last several years, but this mic has become my regular. It's extremely crisp and clear, has excellent dynamics and a great price to boot. I will be picking up a few more!

Best live vocal mic on the planet

Loud, clean, clear, VERY durable. The mic does everything as advertised, and more. I've had an original 767 since they came out, and it's still the best vocal unit for live work. I now have 2 more 767a. Superb feedback rejection. Very live / workable (has a proximal effect - closer in gives just a bit of bass boost, like a cleaner SM58). Sounds great on instruments and drums. The rubbery coating makes it warm to grab, easy to hang onto when roaming around the stage.

Excellent Mic

I am a drummer that sings, so handling noise is not that important to me as the Microphone is always on a stand. This is a great Mic. It is really clear, bright and sounds better to my ears than the others at the same price point....SM58, E835, OM2, D5. the only thing I don't like about it is that EV needs to make this same model with a on/off switch. I like EV and Audix because they are USA made. Let's keep the $$ in our own country folks.

Great Stage Mic at this pricepoint!!

We purchased five of these mics to upgrade from some lower end ADK mics that were shipped with our PA system. I tried out several other mics including the SM58 and the Sennheiser 845 mics, but they didn't have the clarity that the N/D767A mics had. We also performed at several concerts where they used SM58's.... and every time I concluded that our voices sounded "muddy". We sing a lot of acapella southern- and bluegrass- gospel and the N/D767A mics always produce sweet clear vocals. My personal assessment with the SM58's are that they somehow fatten / flatter your voice and can make a mediocre singer sound better, but if you want something cleaner... go with the N/D767A mics... I'm not a EV bigot, and respect the Shure line of mics... it's just for our group, our voices sound much better with the N/D767A mics. I'm sure there are probably new and comparable mics to the N/D767A mics.. but we've been very happy with ours.
