Extremely Solid Interface

Right out of the box, this thing is easy to use. I just installed the drivers, plugged it in, and it was ready to go! I use Adobe Audition, and this interface works magically! The plug ins it comes with are somewhat simplisitic, but the EQ is good for some basic frequency cutting/boosting before being recorded.

Basically, this unit is a decent price, and the preamps and converters are great. I recommend this for a small home studio!

I bought this based on the fact that it was Focusrite. I had to jump through all kinds of hoops to register it and the Cubase LE plugins and then, after doing all of that, it wouldn't work at all. I've returned it so I can get something else that actually works.

Thia was the first interface I purchased when building my home studio. I took the word of others and gave it a try.

Right out of the box I was impressed. After spending a few hours messing around with it on Cubase I was able to gain a pretty good control of its features.

The DSP is great, as is the interface layout. A great buy.

You won't be dissapointed.

I've had this unit for about 2 years and have used it as an interface for recording voiceovers, room tone, and Instrument samples in an Iso. Very clean interface and when used with high-end tube pre's and mics I hear the mic and pre character not my interface (can't say the same for Mbox) and I do a lot of 5.1 mixes and this has worked like a charm. If your looking for the best of everything, this won't give you it, by then again look at the price, it can’t be a miracle box. If you want a great interface out of the box with some versatility and you want some new plug-ins, its worth it. Plug-ins are good, not great(great plug-ins are the same price as this entire unit),but if your system is already taxed by your project this might free up a little processing power and they might work for what you need. I use the reverb a lot as a placeholder until I can bring my project to a tried and true outboard unit for final mix. Volume is very digital however and doesn't have immediate response, also cuts of long before knob hits 0. USE CLEAN POWER, and DON’T RUN IT OFF FIREWIRE POWER!!! If you run it off firewire power or a fluctuating power souce you will have a drop in sensitivity while recording and playback volume at low levels will have a give or take of about 6 db. Also, never try to use the DSP without an external power source it just won’t work and you’ll have dropouts. If you use it with a laptop invest in a small Ferman conditioner and treat it like a real piece of rack gear. Would you try to run an Eventide off your computer? I do love this unit. I have an Mbox2 and this is my everyday unit. Mbox is only for when I need Protools. I have to deliver to high-end professional clients and most of the time this fits the bill.
