All it takes...

is a little patience, and a willing to learn.

You'll get very good mixes out of this package IF you don't mind buying some 3 or 6 foot TRS to XLR cables... one pair of TRS to XLR male and one pair TRS to XLR female. call 'em 6 footers.

When I first got this set of speakers it did prevent me from getting set up right away, but when you use the balanced cables you're getting the best signal transfer you can get. No biggie. Live and Learn!

This combination doesn't make any sense. These components were never meant to be used with one another. The sub only outputs through XLR cables and the pm0.4s only accept TRS, so you can't even connect them without adapters or specialty cables! This is just a bad idea all around.

I have bought this set of speakers with my D3200, at the time of purchase and not knowing how this all would pan out and on a budget, I felt this would be good enough. But after cutting the first cd and sitting with those speakers for about 40 hours, I think that true sound from a recording unit should come from a little bit better speaker than I bought. I think that my fostex speakers are good and no problems have I had. But if I did it again I would probably spend more for my studio speakers and alot, alot more for my headset, you'll wear it alot.

Nice Speakers...Odd Bundle

The sound these speakers produce is wonderful. The relatively low price of this bundle increases its value. However, there's one big problem that's apparent as soon as you open the box and before you set your monitors up. The instructions themselves say that the PM0.5-Sub MKII is designed to be used with the PM0.5 MKII satellites ... not the PM0.4s. The PM0.4s have two input options: TSR and RCA. The PM0.5 has one output option: XLR. So in order to set your system up you're going to need to get some adapters, especially if your source equipment doesn't use XLR or TRS. This is created a big headache and prevented me from being able to enjoy my new speakers right away. I don't manufacture speakers, but I don't understand why the sub could not have RCA inputs. The least they could have done was include the appropriate cables. Again, the monitors themselves are great but the advertising is very misleading. Make sure you buy some cables and adapters if you don't already have them.
