The sound machine at the forefront of the synth revolution has been digitized and intensified with selective enhancements. The Minimonsta is completely faithful in its reproduction of the original Minimoog, one of the biggest, fattest sounds from any era. Everything that made the Minimoog so popular is here: 3 VCOs, pink/white noise generator, famous Moog 4-pole 24dB/octave low-frequency VCF, 2 ADSRs, external input, mixer, glide and more. If you've worked with a Minimoog before, you'll be blown away at the realism (not to mention its rock-solid tuning).

The Minimonsta also has some performance-enhancing features. For starters, it doesn't go out of tune or suffer from dirty knobs and switches. It's also programmable and comes with over 2500 great presets. All parameters map to standard MIDI controllers as well, so you can record parameter changes into a sequencer or get your hands on the knobs and switches via hardware for a more tactile experience. You can play the Minimonsta in any of 4 triggering modes: mono, unison, legato and, yes, polyphonic. There's even a unique morphing feature that allows you to map 12 presets to an octave of keys and morph between them by playing that octave. It also includes an additional ADSR and LFO that can be routed to just about any parameter you can think of and controlled from any MIDI source. There's also a delay function for instant effect on any patch.

I have been playing guitars and keyboards for quite a few years and in the last couple of years started to put together a modest home studio. If you are in need of killer leads and the fattest basses you must get this synth. I was blown away by the tones and performance of this instrument. The pads are fantastic. The Rick Wakeman patches are amazing and of course you can program your own patches. It's been a while since I've heard a mini in person but this synth sounds perfect enough for me and with the poly and morphing (amazing) it certainly packs an expressive punch. Easiest installation ever. Within two minutes I was jamming this synth. I have the imposcar as well and when I bought a new computer I received A+ customer service the couple times I've contacted them. This synth cuts through a mix no matter where it's panned too. If your like me and have a rompler for bread and butter as well as maybe an EWQLSO for some good orchestra stuff this synth will fill that void for leads and bass. You just have to hear it to believe it. I also use this with a JD 800 and the mini played over the JD 800 pads is out of this world lush. The leads can achieve that high freq fizz that never becomes shrill that the real moogs have. And we all no about the mini bass. Funky. Just amazing.
