The Real Deal

IK Multimedia's amp sims are IMHO the best around. All of the others are toys/sound pretty phoney.

Seriously this is like getting $15K+ worth of amps for a mere fraction of the cost! A guitarist I recently recorded had an old Fender Twin and didn't bring it one time and we had to punch a track he had already recorded a week prior. So we used the Fender plugin and was able to match the real one's sound seamlessly. So I can only imagine the other simulations are just as dead-on.

You need a modern computer to run any of IK's guitar sim plugins, but especially AF. For this I had to knock a half point off the features scale. But if your DAW software can "freeze" your track it's not much of an issue.

Amplitube Fender has set a new standard for guitar amp sim plugins and I can't wait to hear what IK has in store for us next!

Sorry to sound like such a shill but these guys saved me tons of money, lots of studio space and have enabled me to easily get great guitar tones in my home recording studio without the neighbors complaining.

Easy Button for Fender Tone

It could not be easier. I have owned three different older Fender amps in my life and this plug in has the tone down perfectly. Its also does an outstanding job of creating the correct playing dynamics by giving more tube saturation and compression when I play harder ... just like the real Fender tube amp.

I currently own a vintage Fender Quad Reverb and some good mics but I can get virtually the same sound with the plug-in which saves time and means I can lay tracks at any hour of the night. Best $ you can spend if you want vintage Fender amp tone and effects in your studio.

Do be aware that this plug-in requires a strong CPU if you want to run amps and lots of effects.

I've been a long time Fender player and decided I would change from the regular Amplitube to their new Fender specific software. If you are a fan of the Fender sound, this is an amazing software package. The amp sounds are true and the presets offer an unlimited source of different sounds. This is a very important addition to my rtas collection! You won't be disappointed.

I had been waiting for a review of IK Multimedia's Amplitude Fender to come up to see what someone else thought before purchasing - However, I couldn't wait any longer so I ordered it up and now feel compelled to write a review within 8 hours of receiving it.

Amplitude Fender is incredible. I have been playing guitar for nearly 30 years and have owned several of the "classic" Fender Amps. This one piece of software makes you feel like a kid in a candy store flipping between a Twin, Deluxe, Vibroking, etc.

I must admit I have always been a Fender amp guy - I have never owned a Marshall or a "boutique" amp. So I am clearly in the demographic for Amplitude Fender, but I was also skeptical that I could get the true Fender feel and sound off my laptop - Amplitude Fender pulls it off.

For those that record and got tired of using plug-in amps that say "American Vintage" or "American Classic" which never got you to the true Fender sound - This takes care of the problem. This is "Fender" - No close simulations. Though some may debate whether this software absolutely captures the true nuisances of a Fender amp in the digital world, I say it is so close that such debates would be trivial. For a guy who knows the difference between a Twin and a Deluxe - The difference is here. The unique characteristics of a Bassman are captured.

I can only hope that this product gets developed further to give Fender amp fans the total library of "classic" Fender Amps. For example, I would love to have a Super Reverb and Dual Showman added. I could quibble a little over feeling the need to put the newer Supersonic and Pro Junior on this product, I do like the inclusion of the Vibroking and modified Vibroverb. I guess the bottomline is I am greedy and want them all!

Any and all Fender Amp fans need to buy this software to ensure that IK Multimedia gets kudos, sales, and the incentive to develop supplements. Though I may discover a shortcoming or glitch down the road, I don't see anything popping up that is going to dampen my enthusiasm for this fine product.

I am going to stop writing so I can get back to the Candy Store....
