I bought this speaker about a year and a half ago. I use it as a "Cocktail" room extra speaker. This speaker is great. I am about to finally get a 2nd one (I only bought 1 at the time for my use) This is a great speaker for me as a DJ I use this speaker many times in a cocktail room or another room when 2 set ups are needed. Very Light and although the newer speaker has 2 inputs this one works just as well with a small mixer attached for a mic and iPod setup (again I just use it for background in another room) and at times a monitor in front of me.

I bought a pair of these about 15 months ago. They are very versitale and sound great.

If you want loud without much concern for linearity or frequency range they are good value. It will pump very loud bass but the performance rolls off severly below 100 Hz. Despite the 15 inch driver the base range is lack lustre. A Mackie SRM450 has better bass with a 12 inch driver though it won't go as loud.

There is almost nothing in the high frequencies above 12 KHz. This is how they can claim a wide horn performance. It is equally lacking straight in front as it is at a wider dispersion. Take a look at the specs which back my observations.

The product description reads like an electrical engineering achievement in weight reduction but there is actually very little regard for acoustic performance.

What a great product!! These speakers are amazing and are worth every penny. I got three word for you "Buy These Speakers".

A good general purpose powered unit. I use them around a campus as PA speakers, floor monitors, studio monitors, and even hook them to my computer sound card to annoy the guy in the next office.

Good clean sound across the spectrum, though I wish there was some modest equalization possible. If you want bass, you need to EQ it in on your board. For monster bass, you'll need a sub.

Power supply and on/off are on opposite side of the unit from volume, input and output, and mic/line level switch. Any number can be daisy-chained without the impedence issues that arise with standard monitors.

Accessing the mic/line switch is not friendly for harried techies working in low-light conditions.

As monitors, these will rock back on their tall axis and sit well, though they won't comfortably lie sideways like a typical wedge. Units can be stacked, but they're not particularly stable in that position.

Overall, these are good general purpose units. I will investe in more of these rather than buying more non-powered monitors, given the flexibility these powered units offer.
