As such, each Rokit monitor comes equipped with a High Frequency Level Control. This feature provides specific adjustment of high frequency output most commonly affected by room acoustics. It's just one extra level of control that KRK gives you to ensure the most accurate mix for your particular room's acoustics.
Don't Be Square, Curves Ahead
The Gen 2 Rockit studio monitor looks different, so it can sound better, and in a wider "sweet spot". Traditional rectangular speakers suffer from diffraction as sounds leaving the edge of the cabinet are reflected back into the original sound field, and at different time intervals. This phase distortion creates a "narrow" or "boxy" sound. The Generation 2 Rokit series eliminates this issue with radically engineered curved surfaces, so diffraction is virtually eliminated. Simply put, you'll get better sound in a wider area.

Other monitors have ports on the back of the cabinet. These rear-firing ports tend to create bass coupling with walls and corners amplifying low frequency information which will color your mix. I had been making a small studio for a little while now, Recently bought an Ipod recorder/mixer, and I was using little computer speakers, but my 3 YEAR old son blew the speakers. So I shopped around and tested a bunch of monitors and these were the best that I liked. The sound is awesome. Now my guitar recordings sound great, just like a cd. Don't waste your money, get these now. You'll love it.

What can I say about these monitors that has not been said already. These monitors are so good that I will have to re-mix some of my songs. The KRK 5's gives me the bass I need and the crisp highs. I love them!! You will not go wrong with these monitors. Wished I could of got them a few years ago, but I'm glad to have them now.

I had just gotten these for my birthday along with the Boss BR-900CD multi-track recorder! All I have to say is: WOW! The KRK Rokit Powered 5 is the best studio monitor I have ever had (and I've been in some top-notch studios). I use them about 5-6 hours a day! No hiss or hums, no feedback (unless caused), and perfect for any type of musical style! I reccomend this monitor to everybody... especially those who want that "professional" sound!
They provide an accurate reference to your mixes, they might be small but they still translate your low end efficiently, they are extremelly well built, and many different input options!

These are very good monitor for your average home studio. They have very good low end end and ok high end. I would still prefere the yamaha HS50. overall they are good for the price.
