With all of the other reviewers giving the XD such high praise you would think someone would come along and dis this baby. Well it ain't me. The one thing we all have to recognize now is that the way the manufacturers are playing the game, the "gotcha" is on subsequent purchases of the "gotta have" accessories, hence a little taken off on value. The unit itself is seamless in design and detail. Each one of my recordings is getting better as my familiarity with the XD progresses. Yup, I'm in love all over again. Will this baby be obsolete next year? IMHO probably a little, but it won't become extinct for quite some time. The substantial amount of features alone (not to mention the quality of audio reproduction) will keep this sleek little puppy among you're most played with of toys. Do it !

I am overly impressed with this machine - it looks the part, and sounds so sonically brilliant. Using the built in analog compression brings a beatiful warmth to the bass and a punch to my pianos, which I record with Rolands XP30 keyboard. I used to own a Korg M1, and it became a classic in its time - so will this machine. It is beautiful, smooth operation, lovely touch screen, and a very, very valuable asset to my recording studio. It has mix automation, warm rich effects, great mastering processor too. Ideally, i'd like the option of plugging in a monitor, this does let the side down slightly, however, i have no regrets whatsoever with this lovely unit. I love it!!

Comparing the Korg 32XD to the Roland 2480(CD) I have to point out one thing in that the Roland has a coaxil type Digital Input which is compatible with my favorite high end guitar effects proccessor for no guitar and effects signal loss from my guitar proccessor to the Roland, though there is a bit more of a learnig curve with the Roland. The Korg has an Optical digital input which I can't use where I really want it - my guitar effects proccessor. I don't like the built in GUITAR amps/effects on the Roland or Korg Recorders. Look at the back of your Favorite Guitar Proccessor and see if you have a digital output - most likely is a coaxil type (Looks like an RCA cable JacK). I not sure why Korg does'nt include a coaxil type digital IN but if your guitar proccessor has an OPTICAL digital out I'd like to know the type and brand -my favorites are floor models. Summary: If you don't need to get the absolute best dithering sound quality from your own guitar proccessor from digital vs patch cable transfer then the Korg is an easy choice with an easier learning curve.

Very warm sound. Both hardware layout and touch screen is efficient. The options are a good idea. Analog compressors very warm. Well supported with downloadable upgrades. Automation not as robust as control surface like ProTools or Mackie, but gets the job done. Effects are very nice, some similar to plug-ins displays in ProTools and Sonar 4. Faster PC to Korg file transfers would be a plus. Have produced two albums on this so far with only a little PC DAW work at the end. Fast. Responsive. Low learning curve. Better than good but not excellent documentation. This is money well spent. The price is right and if you have work you'll pay for it in no time.

My brother and I purchased the Korg D32XD a few months ago and have been blown away ever since. We are currently working on our own project and feel we couldn't have spent our money better. It does it all. This is nothing short of AWESOME!
