I had the line 6 for 5 day's now and i love it. I already had the Riffworks program on my lap top. what a difference the line 6 made, i recorded my first instermental song and burned it to a CD poped it in my truck player i was impressed. I have been playing for over thirty years, i have been in recording studios, recorded 2 CD's with the band i was in for 15 years, have a sound track on the movie Joy Ride 2. The only thing that was sorta useless to me is the other CD's soft ware. I did use the Riffworks T4 because it had different drums. i would recomend this to anyone looking to have fun and express them selves thru there own music.

They have one thing right, this unit allows you to play and listen with very little latency, depending on how powerful your computer is. But even older computers can use the POD studio/toneport units without much trouble. I connect my studio monitors to the outs, and it works well. Essentially, this is a good interface and doesn't run into many problems. However, my old Toneport UX1 started crackling after about 2 years of use, making quality recordings impossible. But overall, I think Line 6 products offer great audio interfaces that are easy to use. The included Gearbox software is also pretty decent. I find that you can get acceptable results if you're recording in a project/home studio. The distortions are usable, but require a bit of post-processing to get them to sound good in a mix. Included effects are also decent. Overall, I would definitely recommend picking one up, you might find it suits your needs quite nicely.

This is the best music related purchase I have EVER made, hands down. This is a great learning too. I just find a tone I like, such as Boston's Peace of mind, pull up the tab, and listen to the song on I-tunes. It's that simple. Buy this. It's cheap and well worth it. You can run from the headphone out to some speakers and it sounds great.

its a pretty good recording / practice amp. i use it mainly to practice on. i got the sound hooked up so it comes out of the computer speakers as i play. now the only complaint i have is the tone. it takes a while to figure out what you like, you have to learn what two amp heads mix well togather, and what effects/ distortion you wana use. it has EVERYTHING. it just a matter of how you wana use it. if you stupid then this isnt for you. if you have the brians and the willing ness to figure stuff out. this was made for you.

I expected written instructions for: Loading software and then basic "how to use directions" for each program.

Some of the directions in the software "help manuals" were written as if you already had a basic knowlege of how the computer sound recording process works.

After 10 days a friend showed me how to get started and from then on it has been great.

I now know the basics and see the potential hours of enjoyment.
