So I picked up a pair of these monitors for my home mixing station about 6 months ago, And I haven't looked back since. Dont let the price scare you away & make you think that the quality is not there cause their an awesome pair of Monitors. At our Home Studio we run KRK and to be honest in my personal preference I perfer the BX5a's compared to the over priced KRK's.

These monitors are the bomb! But adding a sub-woofer would make it the best ever!!! The factory should offer a package including it. Also make it only one side active and the other passive. It probably will cheap the product but will be the ideal package.

I had a really tight budget, and I knew I wasn't going to get great speakers, but these aren't bad at all. The highs can seem ear piercing when at a certain volume, and the low response isn't all there, but I put a graphic EQ on them, listened to a mix I know well, and took down 16k about 4 dB, and boosted 31hz around 6 dB, and now they sound pretty damn good. I know that ultimately you need a great room to get a natural sound from your speakers, but I'm in a small room and this is only a temporary set up until I can afford better monitors and a better room. I'd recommend these in a second.
