When I first got this baby, I was searching for something like what was written on the cover, but look, the bass that it has is CHEAP and really sounds like hell. The drum loops and the acid loops sound horrible. I don't recommend buying this one.

Pricey for the sound quality it has especially for the samples and loops and the bass and drum sounds. These are nice though and very useable. The BL-6 is similar to other step analog synths like Rebirth 338. It is very flexable. There are many effects too like reverb and delays and chorus and wah wah etc. The LC-5 (?) does not allow external loops to be loaded. So you have the loops you have and that is it. Unless there are more in the same format as this softwares included loops. To me the loops don't sound so real. The bass section is good. The other sounds are decent. There is no record capability inherently. You have to access it from a sequencer as a plugin. Using a midi controller is the only way to have fun with this unit. you can program in your midi sequencer step by step but in my opinion a midi controller is a must like an M-audio Radium or Oxygen.

Basslines a must for hip-hop

I picked this bad boy up a year ago and up until recently I thought it was a fairly good product. Since purchasing some KRK Rockit 8s I have noticed that the Drum & Bass rig is completely out of tune and the bass does not sound that realistic at all. For the price you can't beat it but you can find some free soundfonts on the Internet that sound way better than Drum & Bass Rig.

This is a pretty decent product for the price. The demo on M-Audio's website is somewhat misleading but overall this program will allow you to create some bass lines and drum patterns. I use it as a plug in for FL Studio 5 and it seems to work OK except that each time I load a sequence in FL that contains the M-Audio rig I have to click on the pad containing the plug-in or I get no sound from the rig. The install is somewhat wack in that you need to enter a CD Key and activate it via M-Audio website to receive a reg key that unlocks the product.

If you are looking to make decent basslines in Cubase, FL Studio, or any other prog that takes plug-ins or VST deals this may be the product for you.
