What I like about the project is that it is compatible with several daws. If I choose to switch to a different software, it will most likely be an easy move. Currently I use it with Pro Tools m-powered, Reason 4 and in past with cubase. Reason is nice because there are so many slides and knobs on the soft-synths. There are a few auto connections. If you don't like them you can re-route them. The automated faders are very precise, I don't have to keep sliding back and forth to get that specific to dial in parameters.
Default in's are a bit too hot. The led lights blink red even though on playback there isn't any clipping. With the project-mix software, this can easily be adjusted. I've looked at other daw controllers and this one is very versatile, a good buy, and I've had for two years with out any problems.

I use this control surface/ interface with logic. I had a little bit of trouble getting it going but after I got it going it worked like a charm. The faders work great and are fast.

Good control surface

I use this with Pro Tools 7.3 and Logic Express 7.2.3. This control surface is better suited for Logic, I believe, as the shuttle wheel does not move the insertion cursor in Pro Tools. The mic pres are pretty good and overall it is a pretty good control surface. However, it does not always "zero" out the faders when you exit Pro Tools and still leaves some of them up, with the scribble strip still displaying the track names. Just a few minor little pet peeves, but overall, I am happy with it. I just wish that it would have all 4 modifier keys, like on the Digi002, but the pres are way better than on the Digi002.

Simply wow. This allows you to do everything you could ever need to recording wise, unless you need to use more than 8 mics for drums (which is possible). The control surface features are amazing and work so smoothly with protools. The only complaint, is that the mic pres are a bit too hot, but even when it says its peaking, you don't hear the normal peaking sound. The best buy you could ever make.

You can use the software/driver to bring the gain down and it works just fine. It would be nice to have a switch you can just flip though. Other than that it works great. Sounds good and it's nice having the automation features.
