M-Audio StudioPro 3 active monitors feature powerful amplification, custom-tuned cabinets, optimized speaker design, and advanced crossover technology for the best possible sound. Magnetic shielding prevents these desktop audio monitors from interfering with your computer or video monitor.

Stereo Auxiliary Input and Headphone Output
For maximum flexibility, a stereo aux input allows you to plug in a secondary audio source (such as your portable music player) in addition to the main RCA inputs in the back. The volume control works on both inputs simultaneously. Additionally, there is a stereo headphone output next to the aux jack that mutes the sound coming out of the speakers and redirects it to your headphones.

Natural Bass
The custom bass reflex port design discharges very low-frequency signals and delivers a smooth, substantial bass response. Need more? The rear-panel bass boost gives you additional low-frequency gain and makes the monitor speakers versatile for different spaces and listening preferences.

Monitor Pads
High-frequency audio signals tend to be fairly directional. That's why wedge-shaped monitor pads are included to help point your M-Audio StudioPro 3s directly at your ears for an optimal listening sweet spot.

Speaker Enclosure
The M-Audio StudioPro 3 speakers provide a more stable performance with a special medium-density fiberboard (MDF) and unique interior reinforcement designed to absorb vibration and impact generated under extreme conditions. Includes carefully placed acoustic material that makes the StudioPro 3 monitor speaker's sound much bigger than they are - resulting in a smooth, natural bass response.

Just got a pair of these and while they aren't really good enough for any serious mixing, they would work for a temp mix in a pinch and for just general purpose listening when hooked up to a computer, they are miles ahead of most of those 2.1 systems on the market.

Their look and size is deceiving but they produce a clear and accurate sound. However, the downfall is they are just not made very well. Audio glitches in the headphone jack and 1/8 jack output on the back have become routinely problematic with the signal bouncing and fading in and out and now the right speaker is producing a rattling or static at certain frequencies.

As I said they sound great, and I suppose for the 2 years I used them I got my money's worth, but reliability is an issue.

These function very well as computer speakers for typical music listening, with much more clarity than other speakers labelled as "computer speakers" at this price point.

For mixing, they are decent for a small, office-style workstation. I wouldn't use them if I was a pro, but then again if I was a pro I wouldn't have a budget this small for monitors. :-) So, I am pretty happy with my purchase. They do what I expected them to do for the price, and they do it pretty well.

I got these because I was on a pretty lean budget. I am doing home recording in an apartment and needed something decent.

These monitors are *perfect* for their intended purpose: close, mid-volume tracking and rough mixing. If you expect a 3" speaker to kick out monstrous bass, and fill a massive room, you will be disappointed, of course. However, they deliver much more than you'd expect from a small cheap monitor set.

No regrets at all, I'm even considering another set for my other computer setup.

If you really, really want these monitors bad and nothing you hear will change your mind, don't bother reading this.

Still here? Good. Stay away from these.

I got them out of the box, plugged them up and they sounded fine. So far, so good. However, within ten minutes I reached back to turn on the bass boost and the temp was about 150 degrees on the back panel. I thought, OK, maybe this is normal. Or not. Within a week they wouldn't power up. So now I'm going to take the refund and buy a better set of monitors. Lesson learned.
