Very smooth, focused and clean

I don't have a lot of experience with condensers but this mic sounds incredible for the price.

Very focused and clean for vocals. The words smooth and rich describe it best. I'm not picking up an electrical noise in my mess of equipment nor does it catch outside noise and ruin the mix. For me it definitely picks up my vocal strengths and sugar coats the qualities I dislike.

A tweak of 1 or 2 on my analog mixer's EQ really helped this mic win me over.

I'm not a fan of large capsule condensers for guitar amps, this mic didn't change that.

For the sale price, if not for the studio get it for the stage. A condenser on your lead vocals is better than a cardioid any day and unless you're swimming in cash, no need to have a mic onstage costing a few hundred dollars and risk it's death or theft.

While I have a more expensive condenser from MXL with a lot more options and twice the size, this will still get plenty of use.

I've had this mic for a couple of years. It's had its fair share of abuse from me dropping it and is a little dented up yet it still works like new. the sound quality is amazing I bought a behringer mic around the same time for about double the price and the mxl has a far better sound. the only problem I've had is the screw on the shockmount to adjust the angle broke, but that was easily fixed with another screw. I would recommend this mic to anyone interested in recording

Pretty Good Mic

I am happy with this mic, but I could not give it the highest marks because there are some features like bass roll off and pad that are not included with this mic. For my purposes that is not a prob, but some folks might need those features. It sounds great and really picks up every sound in the room with ease. My only real complaint is that the shock mount has some odd thread size that did not screw tightly to my mic stand, so I just duct taped the adapter to the stand for peace of mind. I think this is a worthwhile mic to have around for the price.

WOW! ok so alot of other people may have wrote bad reviews as to the quality of sound but i have been doing sound for 4 years almost and i would have to say out of the hunderedes of mics i have used this captures the sound of the person very well. As to its mic capabilitys for instruments that is yet to be discovered. Oh one BAD thing though the shock mount does not hold the weight of the mic very well when it is upside down or right side up for that matter. But the mic is golden.

Good and bad

I'm not going to waste time repeating the good things that others have already said, but i want to just offer one example of the bad. I've had mine for not quite a year, and used it minimally, maybe five times. The shock mount, which has spent 95% of the time i've owned this, in the box is pretty much junk. Mine has fallin apart, and its so junky i can't evven put it back together. My friend owns this as well and his shock mount did the exact same thing. Luckily the other option that comes in this package to hold the mic is sufficient. Not a bad mic overall, picks up EVERYTHING. from downstairs you can hear people breathing upstairs. It's nuts, almost to much for a cheap studio with no sound control. I'd probably recommend it primarily due to it's amazing price. For the price this mic is unparalleled!
