Ok so ive always liked this micrphone, it stood out from all the others for some reason. well it does stand out!!! i like this mic i realy like it. it sounds great, it looks great, it feels great. the price isnt what it should be, it should be three times that amount. its realy clean and you dont need to add any eq, although when i used it i noticed some slight static but that was because the wires i had ran over one another. I WILL DEFFINETLY BUY MORE MXL PRODUCTS!!!

this was my first condenser mic. i had a handful of shure sm57's and a 58. i got a recording interface for my computer and needed to get a better mic for vocals. this mic had fairly good reviews, and being on a tight budget i decided to get this mic. i was amazed at how great it was at first (compared to my dynamic mics), but after a couple months it just stopped being as sensitive. now i have to crank the pre-gain up almost all the way to get the level high enough to use it. i have talked to a lot of other people that have bought MXL microphones and many have had bad experiences like mine. i'm sure that MXL makes some decent microphones, but i would recommend saving up for something a little more reliable. you'll be glad you did in the long run.

Recording Acoustic Guitar MXL V63M

I finally found an inexpensive mic to record my acoustic guitars at home using Garage Band. I had been using a Shure SM58, but even with a preamp I had to bang on my guitar to get enough gain. Today I plugged in the MXL V63M. Be advised you need phantom power. I also purchased an M-Audio Mobile PreUSB that provides the power. I am very pleased how the mic records my Martin. Very nice microphone. I'm glad I bought it.

I've had this mic for a little over a year im a bit of a quality freak and all I can say is it has well out done its price. Its been an awsome microphone and I will never get rid of it. Although I just got my Neumann TLM 103 in the mail today haven't tried it yet hopefully it will out perform my MXL V63M lol.

A friend of mine has this mic, and I'm about to but a set of them. Great warmth, full body sound! Beautiful, great for voice and for miking guitar and acoustic. People saying that it lacked warmth, it may just be your preamps. Remember, you can have the best microphone ever but if you preamp sucks, the mic does the very same.
