so i picked up this mic used on craigslist because i needed to record vocals for my bands demo. i was previously using a Blue bluebird but my buddy took it back. Compared to that (on vocals, drum overheads and acoustic) it sounds decent. it is not as bright as i would like but it gets the job done. i dont see why you wouldnt have one of these in your studio considering how cheap they are.

Good mic for recording (mainly)

I've found this to be a nice mic for occasional recording; bright and with good dynamic range. I've also found this to be a not-so-nice mic for live/stage because it feeds back pretty easily.

'OK' mic for the price

I got two of these for free when I bought two of my motu 896hd's a couple of years ago. I've used them in many applications (drum overheads, ambient microphones for live recording, electric guitars, acoustic guitars, vocals, etc...) For the price they will do the job for a LOW BUDGET home studio but I wouldn't recommend using these for anything other than ambient mics, talk back mics or any other track that you don't plan on being UP FRONT in your mix. Don't waist your time trying to get a GREAT vocal sound from one of these. You'll have to drop some bigger $$$ for that.

This has been a great Mic for the money, I have used a lot more expensive mic’s that didn’t sound as good as this one. I use it with my Boss BR- 1600 studio WITH GREAT RESULTS. I will be buying another to add to my home projects.

I love this mic. I really brings out my voice for speaking, not singing, but I use this for my broadcasting. Good cheap mic for what it can do.
