Excellent edition to the Home Studio

I can't believe I actually received this as a gift. At the time, I was recording directly onto my computer via the soundcard - which resulted in terrible sound quality. I wanted to mic things in stereo, and someone offered me this...and it was the perfect solution. I use a Boss DD-550 for rhythm tracks, and the Mackie really helped it come alive. I have now "upgraded" my studio with a Tascam DP-01FX, and when used in conjuction with the Mackie 1402, I can make what I consider to be studio quality records on the cheap... All in all, the Mackie 1402 has great sound that compliments your current equipment, while allowing flexibility to grow...

I am an audio engineer for a high school. I've used this mixer for 4 years with maximum abuse. We use it for a PA system which was used almost everyday of the school year, for lunch music out in the hot sun, for football games in the moist air, and under the dust in the backroom. and it still works great. I recommend this mixer for anyone.

It's a nice compact mixer, the one that I own is rack mounted and works all night and every night! Just remember if your going to use it for a small band make shore there's enough Mic inputs in case your band grows! trust me.

One Tough Mixer!

As a professional musician for the air force, we constantly do gigs in areas all over the place, and with as much travel as we encounter, this product remains as a mainstay of our sound entorrage, and has all kinda great options for mulitchannel output for recording. there's all kinda ways to trick it into re-feeding the inserts for a post-EQ Insert, (as opposed to the typical pre-EQ) and with the alt3/4, you get an easy extra set of outputs, and with the control out l/r, you really have 3 fully balanced outputs plus all 6 inserts, and tape and aux outs...talk about flexibility. this is a mixer everyone should have. the xdr preamps are like butter. Highly recommend it for everyone who needs a portable compact mixer that is resilient and sounds great!

This board is great. I use it every sunday morning at church. Very clean, easy to use, and never fails. Mackie is the best to buy when looking for a mixer.
