Mine worked great for 2 years. Now it goes crazy. Sometimes WHOLE channels completely go out! Sometimes I loose the Left or just the right channel! This board woud be great if you wanted some extra electronic parts....

The EQ isn't as good as the VLZ-Pro, it sounds a bit weaker. The build strength on the VLZ3 is MUCH lower. The one I got had the roto-pod bent, and although the board tested out ok on install, a week later, I was called back to look at the mixer. It had to be replaced. The replacement is working fine. Since Mackie was bought out by LOUD, their products have gone downhill.

There's really not much more that can be said about the undeniable quality of a Mackie analog mixer. A bit overpriced, I think, so I gave the Mackie 1604-VLZ3 a low "value" rating.

My frustration came when, after paying though the nose for the mixer and being excited about the rotating I/O panel feature that their own specs say offers "three configurations", I found out that you still have to buy a pricey accessory to have the I/Os on the face of the mixer.

Be aware of this and order the accessory when you buy the mixer so you don't have to wait longer.

I have no idea why this mixer doesn't have XLR outputs. None. At all. Even the entry-level mixers by Mackie have XLR outs. The old VLZ-PRO is built better, and it's cheaper now that these are out. Buy an old VLZ-PRO and be happy forever.
