Serious power and excellent fidelity in a fully functional mini PA system that doubles as a mic-stand mountable personal monitor.
The SRM150 combines Mackie's proven mixer and SRM active loudspeaker technologies to create a powerful, great-sounding 3-channel PA system that is ultra-compact, versatile, and expandable. The Mackie SRM150 Compact Active PA System is ideal for a wide variety of applications ranging from boardroom A/V to live musical performance in small venues.
Don't be fooled by the small size. The SRM150 PA System is big on features and sound quality. The built-in three-channel mixer features two combo XLR/line inputs (with true 48V phantom power), a stereo channel for CD/MP3 players, and Mackie's powerful 3-band Active EQ. The SRM150 can even be mounted on a mic stand, making it the ideal personal monitor. Put simply, with its tremendous feature set and 150-watts of world-class sound, the Mackie SRM150 is the perfect solution for any application requiring superior sound quality.
Built-in Mackie mixer
At the very heart of the SRM150 is a Mackie mixer, with all the versatility and features you've come to expect from the manufacturer of the world's best selling compact audio mixers. Channels 1 and 2 can be used for mic/line sources, thanks to the handy Neutrik Combo jack, which accepts either 1/4" TRS or XLR connections. True 48V phantom power is supplied, so you can use even the most finicky condenser mics with confidence.
Channel 1 also has an added feature. Simply plug in your guitar, bass (or any other Hi-Z instrument), press the CH1 Instrument switch and you get all the benefits of a DI box, without the hassle and added expense.
Dedicated Stereo Inputs
Channel 3 is reserved for stereo devices, such as an MP3, CD or tape player. Just connect to the dual RCA jacks from your device and use the Channel 3 Level control to balance the gain with your other inputs. This is a truly handy feature for performers working with backing tracks, MIDI sequencers or drum machines.
Glorious Mackie 3-band EQ
We invested tremendous resources optimizing the center frequencies of our 3-band active EQs. By selecting 100Hz, 2.5kHz and 12kHz, for the Lows, Mids and Highs, respectively, we created an equalization scheme of a highly musical nature. And SRM150's EQ bands work very independently of each other, allowing you to cut or boost a specific band without affecting the others. With up to 15dB boost/cut capability per band, the onboard active EQ provides more tone-sculpting latitude and feedback control than you'll find in any other product in its class.
High output, premium quality sound
All the "bells and whistles" in the world are completely worthless if you can't crank out world class sound! That's why we matched the SRM150's powerful 150-watt Class-D amplifier with an equally impressive 5.25" full range, weather-resistant neodymium driver, which was developed by the speaker gurus at EAW. The SRM150 puts out a blistering 120dB SPL @ 1 meter, far more than the competition offers. And the SRM150 sounds great, whether you're accompanying a vocalist with your acoustic at the coffee house or making an A/V presentation to the board of directors.
The ultimate personal monitor
Not only is the SRM150 an excellent loudspeaker system for compact PA applications, but it also offers unparalleled performance as a personal monitor. The onboard 3-band EQ facilitates feedback suppression and offers the same great tone-shaping capabilities as our legendary compact mixers. Mic stand ready with an included boom arm adapter, the SRM150 puts total control right at your fingertips. In addition to stand mounting, the SRM150 PA system was designed to provide the proper monitoring angle when used in traditional floor wedge and tabletop placement. Let's face it, putting high output, quality sound right where you want it is what monitors are all about!
Rear patchbay
Want to use a second SRM150 or an SRM450? The rear panel Thru jack provides connectivity for an extra powered monitor, or for sending a mic level output to the front of house system( by activating the mic/line switch. The Main input also has a dual purpose. It can obviously be used to receive monitor mixer signals, but can also be used to link more SRMs.
Applications galore
Uses for the SRM150 are virtually limitless. Below is a short list of some obvious, as well as not-so-obvious applications.
•Executive boardrooms
•A/V presentations
•Tradeshow demonstration booths
•Classroom instruction
•Aerobics instructors
•Live music performance monitors •Personal practice with stereo tracks
•PA system expansion for "Cry" or "Green" rooms
•Recording studio playback to remote rooms
•Anywhere high quality audio is required but space is limited

I bought this unit for use as a vocal monitor for my band's drummer. Bad idea! The speaker blew on the second gig. I thought we'd plug in some headphones for him to continue using it temporarily. With all the connections on this you might expect a headphone jack but there is none to be had. I paid for Mackie quality and I'm left extremely disappointed by this unit. I called customer service this afternoon to see about repairing or replacing the speaker but they are only open in the AM. From previous comments I don't expect much gratification.

Worked fine until it broke... twice

The Mackie SRM150 was recommended to me at Guitar Center, and sounded good enough in the store. The extra inputs in front, plus the choice of XLR or 1/4" inputs were nice, and the sound quality was enough to suit my band's needs. Unfortunately, less than two months after buying, it died on stage. I figured out during the set break that if I jiggled the fuse case it might turn back on for a few minutes, but that was the best I could get from it.
So I contacted Mackie since it was under warranty. Several weeks later I got a response, and was sent a replacement with a box to ship back the old one. For a few months, I was satisfied.
Then the front grill came off. Not too bad, and I fixed it with a little glue, but this shouldn't have happened.
Then, a month after that, the speaker died on me mid song. Completely silent. I couldn't get sound from any input, and I had to finish the gig and play the next gig with no monitor.
This time, support was even less supportive. A week after contacting them, I was told that I'd have to take the item to a service center, with the closest one being about 90 miles away. Apparently, some people were cranking the volume too high and getting replacements, so now I'm punished for their mistakes. The person I spoke with on the phone even said that he didn't believe I didn't blow the speaker myself.
I'm amazed that this model would die on me twice. Once was bad, but forgivable is the support is there. Twice (not counting the speaker grill falling off), plus the bad support, is enough to keep me away from Mackie for the rest of my career.

Nice concept but poor execution

CONS: The first one I purchased failed (Master at 1/2, Channel at 1/3, EQ flat) after six days---no sound and the pilot light started cycling from dim to bright, sending a corresponding noise to other equipment plugged into the the same AC outlet. The second unit had front-panel channels fail. Frighteningly unreliable. The boom-stand extension connector is a joke.
PROS: Really nice features and volume in an amazingly compact package. A passthru/mix selector for the rear (fourth!) input and an 8-inch speaker version would make the thing really nice. Oh, yeah, take the fear out of using on a gig and MAKE THE THING RELIABLE.

Great Mini-PA/Powered Monitor

I have used the SRM150 for several months as a direct microphone "hot spot" and as a powered monitor. I used Crate powered "hot spots" for many years, but this unit beats them hands down (Crate doesn't even make them anymore). I bought the "scratch 'n' dent" and can't see where there are any flaws. The only thing that I think was left out of the design is an ouput for headphones that cuts the speaker off. This ability would greatly enhance its stage versatility.

Our R&B group use the SRM 150s for vocal and horn monitors on stage. Near field concept is great, cutting down on stage volumn. As designed,it does this well. However, upon arrival, a power indicator did'nt work, and now one unit shuts down at even low volumn levels like it is thermaling. We are not over loading it on the inputs, and my personal levels are master at 12 o'clock and channel at 10. A great idea isn't worth much if it is undependable. If you play live, your gear can not let you down. The SRM150 has let me down badly.
