Purchased a pair of these and they sounded great right up until one burned out. Although they have been out less than 2 years on market Mackie refuses to repair since Ex left and all the paper work for speakers went with her. Terrible customer service, wrote letter to Mackie never even received a response. NEVER BUY MACKIE

I have a pair of these, 2 pairs of the 350's, and a Mackie mixer and I love all of it. I have read alot of bad reviews for these speakers and I really think it boils down to people not knowing what distortion is, and when to back off on the gain. You know the guy riding down the street in his Cadillac blasting some loud music through his stock speakers and the whole car sounds like it's going to fall apart? To him that sounds good, to people who know better, that equals blown speakers and crappy sound. These are great as small mains or stage monitors. They will not shake the dance floor, but they are not designed for that. Use subs for bass people c'mon!!! Use 4 of these in a large club with 100+ people in it, be reasonable and these speakers will never let you down!

at the store with music play back they sound just fine, but when we used them for our dance band for just vocals they would break up, when all four of us would harmonize together, they had a bad rumbling distortion noise some where around 200-350 hz. We use 4 of them on stands. The first pair of JBL eon,s we purchased years ago had some of the same issues. We want our Cerwin Vega int-152,s back. They are also missing the warm tone of the wood enclosure and dont go as loud either. Easy set up, nice mobility, just a little disappointed.

The original SRM450 has been around forever so when this one came out I was expecting great things. I'll have to keep waiting because the (really) minor sound improvements aren't worth the extra money - especially now that everybody is blowing out original SRM450's for under $500. My feeling is that when you get into the $750+ range you should be getting a much higher level of performance. There are other speakers out there that WAY outperform these. Yes, they weigh a few pounds more but the proof is in the listening. If you A/B these against other offerings I think you'll agree.
