Great Idea, pretty good product

I love the concept, these are a great tool for practicing and recording.

My only Gripe with these great sounding headphones is that they pinch my ears, that is they are not very coumfortable. The thin liquid filled padding around the edges of the headphones do nothing to shield your ears from the cold hard plastic speaker houseing directly inside.

They are great to practice with though.

I would pay more for more coumfort and a digital metronome.

Oh and easier battery replacement, you have to take the liquid filled head phones out to get to the battery.

This metrophones are good on paper. It protects the ears and even helps you prepare for playing with a click track exactly as you would in the studio.

HOWEVER... First, you will notice that the dial to select the tempo is an imprecise way of making a tempo selection. You have to eyeball it. A simple digital interface would have been much better. After some time, the dial became inaccurate because it had been pushed too far in one direction. It also has 0 options. Just a quarter note...or 8th note if you push the tempo to double time at lower tempos.

My main gripe is that over time, the padding on the ears drained...yes drained. It’s some sort of water gel that makes it quite comfortable at first, but downright painful after it burst (it burst on both sides mind you). For many weeks, I would have this water substance dripping on my shoulders from it slowly draining.

Good concept, bad quality and overpriced. It does protect the ears however. Drummers might get their moneys worth there.

Don't shed without them!

After reading several ad reviews of the lower priced models, mentioning imprecise metronme settings, bad wiring in the speakers etc, I decided to go with this pricey tp of the line model. I used them yesterday for a solo drum practice, and now I can't understand I ever practiced without them. Halfway through the practce session I put down the sticks and wanted to adjust the phones a little and in the process lifted one of the earpads from my ears. The noise, only from the after ring of the drums and cymbals, was painful, a measure not of how hard I hit, because I do nt hit very hard, but of how low volume my ears had got used to while wearing the phones. You simply feel protected wearing these and you can lay into the drums with no stress on your ears. The metronome is fine, the tempo adjusts with a toggle switch. After you get used to it, it is easy. Protecting your ears is priceless, so don't skimp here!

I have had these headphones for over a year now and they are great! They make everything on your set sound sweet. The click also helps you out when you're jamming by yourself. When recording with these, they work beautifully. Your can hear your drums perfectly and hear the guitars and the bass. I would recomend these headphones to every drummer.

these headphones will definitely help you out. you will like the sound of your set. you will be able to play by the click and play along with music at a reasonable volume level, no matter how hard you hit. ok for band practice, as long as the rest of the band is fairly loud. they're little too pricy, i think, and they feel a bit heavy. hope they last long. only had them for two days. so far i am very stoked. save your ears. improve.
