SR-8 Relay Packs
Feature 8 switched power sockets that correspond to channel 1-8 on the multifunction switch panel and one unswitched power socket for constant on item.

What is a Relay Pack? Relays allow you to control non-DMX lighting via a DMX controller. The relay pack contains multiple plugs, each of which correspond to a channel of DMX. When units are plugged into this relay pack, they become dependent upon the relay for power. These lights are either on or off. The function of the relay is to control that signal. As the slider of a DMX controller is raised, a certain value will represent on for the relay pack, which will cause the light to turn on.

How To Use 2 Relay Packs with the SF-9005 Timer Controller: Two SR-8 relay packs may be run off one multifunction switch panel. Simply connect an SF-EXCB 9-pin extension cable (see item # 801696) from the line out on one SR-8 relay pack to the line in on another relay pack.

** Please note maximum load per relay pack is 15amps or 1800watts.

Just purchased the set and am confused as to why the power cords to the Par 38B lights are so short. Thought this was a complete package - now I need to buy eight extensions cords to be able to plug in each light into the relay pack. Only came with one cable - will need to buy another cable to connect both relay packs to the controller.

A good package, that is easy to set up, and easy to use, only complaint is ...the controller could use a dimmer., and dont forget to buy an extra 9 pin cable,and gels... other than that, this thing is awesome, does exactaly what its supposed to do, a great value if you wish to add some ambience to your live show

My band gigs twice a week and some our venues did not provide good lighting. I researched many stage lighting systems and settled on the Musician's Gear Stage lighting System 838. Overall the quality of each of the components is better than I expected for the price. Once you "pre-rig" the set, it's only about a 10 minute set up, which helps at showtime. We used them last night and they worked very well with many positive omments from our agent and fans. The negatives are that you separtly need to order 2 sets of colored gels when you buy the system. They are not expensive and I think the package should include them. The other important point is that you will need to purchase about $60 worth of exentsion cords to use this system on any decent sized stage (4 for each side). The system comes with 2 power strips but only 1, 9 pin connector cable. I questioned them on this and they really didn't have a good answer why there aren't two contorller cables. Besides that there is on manual which diagrams how to set it up. I took about 2 hours messing around until I came up with a good working design. All that said, once went to the hardware store and bought gels, pre-rigged the light trees and zip tied all my power cords, I found it an easy set up at the gig, with great flexibility and nice chase and music driven lighting features. I really think that they pieced this together for a good price, but didn't think out the design or features too well. Still a very good value for the money as far as I'm concerned, just be ready to do a little work before you use them the first time. RJ

I ordered this lighting system for my band and overall was impressed with it. The only problem was it was missing a bag of bolts which I had to go to the local hardware store to replace. No big deal. I emailed musiciansfriend and they sent me a bag of bolts. Great service! The good thing about this set is the replacement bulbs can be found basically at any hardware store. The system is pretty easy to use and the chase feature is cool. It also has an outlet for a fog machine. The only thing that you should get is another 25 foot 8 pin plug (one comes with it), otherwise, you have to run 4 extension cords to the control panel. Overall, very pleased with the system, and the service. I would buy another set...
