We're currently using this Nady DM-90, and it sounds great! With ported and non-ported heads on a Gretsch 22", and on a Mapex 16' jungle bop kit. The results are very good.

I bought this as a backup. My sound man compared this mic to my Shure B52A during a sound check. With the same eq settings for both mics, the Beta did win the sound test but with some adjustments the Nady sounded just as good as the Beta. For the money and sound quality its a deal.

Bought this in hopes it would bring out the kick in my old yamaha power V. Holy crap I was shocked. Great gain wonderful response. Honestly was not expecting that kinda mic for the price. Is recording sweet! You wont be dissapointed.

I just plugged this mic up yesterday and it is perfect for my needs. I've used virtually every kick drum mic imaginable from all of the "big name" companies, and unlike many of the "go to kick mics" this one sounded really good out of the box with a flat eq. Of course I adjusted the eq further and after about 30 seconds I had a concert ready kick drum sound with only EQ (no compression, gates, expanders, reverb... NOTHING) It was shaking the walls. Buy the mic and you'll not be disappointed.
