Decent unit for the money

I'm from a generation where monitors for a bar band was the echo from the back wall. Eventually moved up to stage monitors, and just bought the EO3 to use in a solo show. I've been rehearsing with it and it seems fine. No problem with volume as some have stated - but I haven't used it in a band situation yet. The included headphones are terrible, but I noticed a significant improvement with just a cheap ($15) set of MP3-player buds. No problem with buzzing as some have noted. There is a hiss, but it's drowned out as soon as the music starts. My purpose for a monitor is to hear myself sing. The mix is different than the front mix anyway, and quality doesn't really matter as long as I can hear myself. This unit does that. Overall, I'm satisfied. It works as well as a powered monitor speaker, costs about the same, but is a lot easier to lug around.

Have to note this - I ***AM*** impressed with Musician's Friend on the delivery. It arrived a full week earlier than I expected on a delivery to Canada.

When i first got this kit I was dissapointed! very compressed sound not enough output and alot of hiss.I am sure that nady cut output to discourage hearing loss. Now for the good part I discovered a mod to solve all problems except hiss. 1st-remove cover 4 screws on bottom 2nd-locate trim pot (round silver pot with slot in it)turn trim pot to 3:00 position approx.DONT FORCE!!!!! 3rd-locate dip switch with #s 1-8 on it push #4 switch up 4th-reassemble and enjoy The trim pot mod increases output and dip mod removes compression. this mod turns an ok unit into a monster. The only way to get rid of hiss is with an eq or when the music starts you wont notice it anymore.

I wanted to get a more expensive unit, but tight on cash I got this one. Found out when I gigged with it that its not to bad after all. If this thing was lost or stolen I would have to get other one for sure. I got some Sony ear buds that work pretty good. You may have to get a 1/8" mono to stereo adaptor.

Great for the Money!

Bought this thing with 5 receivers about 4 months ago for our rock band. For the money, it's the best thing you could ever purchase as a band! Sure their are some down sides (Ear buds suck, can't change channels, signal is mono, not rack mountable, etc), but all in all it's a pretty solid unit. I will say that their is A LOT of white noise, but I HAVE THE SOLUTION TO THIS PROBLEM... Buy an EQ!!

I run a 32 band (little excessive) EQ, and once I dialed that thing in, I DRASTICALLY improved the sound! I basically just killed a lot of the highs and boosted some of the mids and lows, but just be careful not to overdrive the input. I ran a CD through my mixer and then into the Nady to get a fairly consistent source to dial it up. Once I accomplished that, I did a little tweaking for our live stuff.

I also run Shure E2 earbuds with them and that makes a huge difference as well.

Don't get me wrong, this isn't a Shure, but for the money I spent on it compared to carrying my floor wedges to a venue, it's paid for itself!

These monitors purchased and the price are excellent Uses in my church, live concerts and sound very well If you need to buy some earpiece with better sound I recommend Sony. Another weakness is a little noise but that is Not really that important. Actually if they work well.
