Decent monitor, good value

We found that the gain on these units was so hot that we barely crack open the volume knob and have to be careful at the mixer as well. We were very disappointed trying to run one or two PM100 (passive model) from a PM200 - hardly any volume from the PM100 units. Also, the little button for the internal speaker on-off fell off one of ours. Not a big deal, but shouldn't happen. We ditched our floor wedges (and associated outboard amplifiers) and just use these now.

I also have a slightly more expensive Galaxy personal powered monitor which was quite loud, you could only put the volume at about 1/2 or you'd be too loud for an acoustic set, and was expecting something to match the small acoustic amp I had. Unfortunately, I am not thrilled with the Nady version.

You have to crank every control to max if you want to hear yourself over a small acoustic guitar amp and even then the sound is muffled. I would recommend that someone spends a little more money to get better quality.

The Least expensive powered personal monitor

THE GOOD: it is compact, The amp is strong, it has power to drive speakers, it has balance XLR and 1/4" for audio input also 1/4" audio out to loop the out-put to the other PM-200A powered monitor speaker. It can pole on any standard mic stand. It is loud if the bass EQ is set to halfway or at center. It has TOO MUCH mid-frequency, it sounds like, the sound is bouncing from a glass or mirror or very hard surface, its needs some kind of form to pad inside the cabinet to absorb the mid frequency. THE BAD: The first day I received these speakers, one of the woofer from one of these speakers was not working, I tried the extension speaker on/off switch many times but no luck, I some how push that switch and hold it, the second woofer sounded but with only high frequency, no MID or LOW frequency coming out from that second woofer, as soon as I released the extension on/off speaker switch, the sound from the second woofer stopped. I would only recommended to those who play in one man band or a band with low budget and who doesn’t required high quality monitor speaker.

Swiss army knife of spot monitors

I've had this little monitor for a few weeks now, and I've used it as stage monitor for a drummer, a keyboardist, a guitarist, and even a makeshift Karaoke PA for my daughter and her friends. In every application the monitor performed flawlessly.

This weekend I will be running monitors for a major outdoor gig, and plan to use the PM200A as my monitor instead of my usual headphones.

Very versatile little monitor

I bought this monitor as an all around "fix-it" for several problems. So far in just one week I've used it as a vocal monitor, a monitor for my guitar rig when the provided "backline" amp blew a tube, a hot spot for my drummer who can't ever seem to hear the vocals in his wedge monitors (he now wants to mount the NADY PM200A on his drum rack), AND I plugged an iPod into this thing for some background music at birthday party.

The ability to turn off the internal speakers, flexible inputs, and real tone controls, are a definite pluss to this little monitor.

This little monitor has done everything I've asked it to do, including running a couple of 12 inch full range speakers at the aforementioned birthday party. I'd rate it a perfect 5, but I want to wait and see how durable it is. So far, it's done great.
