Disappointing

We purchased two PM100 and two PM200. While the PM200 units have performed satisfactoril, one PM100 was defective out of the box; the cone was visibly distorted where it meets the dust cap. Pressing the cone slightly resulted in that "grating" sound of a misaligned voice coil. We had hoped to use the PM200 units to drive the PM100 units, but that also was disappointing. The PM200 would be at high volume with very little volume from the PM100 (and yes, we had the PM100 volume control set for full volume).

Awesome. I am a volcalist/guitarist so I can never hear my vocals because of my guitar rig blasting me. And not to mention the drums right behind me. These are awesome. I had them so loud and they would not feedback. Just the right frequencies too. Clear as a bell. And they are tiny and light!

Best move we've made

Before we bought these, we used floor monitors. We had to have them so loud to get the sound up to your head that our stage volume was overwhelming. I decided to give these little guys a try because of the price...wow! The best thing we ever did! Our lead singer has never asked to have them turned up and can hear himselve easily. Everyone in the group uses one and our stage volume was cut in half. We no longer have issues with monitors and we have been using them for more than a year now. I totally recomend getting these if your band has had monitor issues and stage volume problems.

We use this for our drummer. Like most gigging bands, we often play in smaller clubs with cramped stages. This works perfectly for that as it doesn't take up much space and we can get it at his ear level. I daisy chain it off a PA speaker and use the input control for the volume. As for it's durability, mine took a 4ft drop and the grill came off. However, it was still going strong. Input jacks still in place with the cable still attached! Snapped the grill back in and it's good to go. One thing you must remember, it is "near-field". This will not provide for the whole stage. It is for one person. I'd say it has a solid 4-8ft range at stage volume. And not super loud - just loud enough. Would be great for a keyboard player on a mic stand as well.

I have used the PM-100 for a year now and still works great. I suppose like most things you get what you pay for, but this little monitor is hard to beat when you've got keyboards in front of you. I have a very difficult time hearing floor monitors no matter what kind they are because the keyboards block the sound. You could spend $400+ on a good floor monitor and not hear it as well as this Nady! If you play keys....buy it....you've got nothing to loose. Whether I'm playing a large outdoor festival or in church....it works great.
