I have owned these for about 6 months. Though I don't do any recording with them, the sound is quite acceptable. I use them for listening to mp3 player and the home theater when I don't want to disturb anyone else. The bass is full and the highs are clear. Many have complained about the speaker sticking out and being painful, but mine are made with the ear padding almost 3/8" further out than the speaker. I can wear these for hours on end and enjoy every minute of it. The volume factor is good as well, my Sansa mp3 player can crank these puppies up so loud that it almost hurts, and still maintain good clarity. The 2fer deal is a great one. Do understand that with the open back, others will hear what you're listening to if you crank it up.

Very good sound for producing and music making, but after 20 minutes ears get very sore. Very clear sound.

Come on, did you people read the description before you purchased these? They are OPENED BACK. They are supposed to be that way. The open back is for people that want the sound of headphones but be able to hear some of the sounds around you. I really like the open back design I have purchased 6 pair to use in my studio and i have not had one single complaint in over three years of use. Their not great for mixing because they are a little bright but in general listening most people prefer a cleaner sound. If you don't want sound to bleed through don't buy. I really like to be able to listen and not be so isolated from the room. If you need isolation then you should buy isolation type headphones.

Ya, they do leak sound from the open back, so when doing vocals use other headphones or turn them down, but then you can't get into the song as much as you should. Mine are in perfect condition and I've had them for like 3 years. I own a few other brands and these were actually a good buy, they are loud and only uncomfortable if you have big a** ears. They are comfortable for me for long 3-4 hour sessions. It's a good buy. But if you are working on something very serious, maybe a closed back.

I got two sets of the buy one get ones. Needless to say after a little over a year 3 out of the 4 don't work. For some odd reason the right side keeps on going out. The speaker is painful against the ear the first time after a awhile they break in I wear these headphones for about 4 hours straight practically. definitely not good for EQing. No true low end. Usually everything comes out with too much low end. Don't wear while recording vocals because of the open back. I just thought NADY was better than these Headphones.
