POOR MICROPHONE do not waste your money a lot of hash low gain they both fail within 2 weeks put some money down and buy a good microphone I have 3 other NADY microphone in my studio they are good units but if I did not already have some of there microphones based on the last two shot guns I would not buy any more boy they were bad

this mic has worked great for me and i haven't had any problems. the response isn't as great as my samson, but it is great for acoustic guitar and cymbals. as to the guy above, make sure you are using phantom power and it is at least 24-36 volts.

I bought this microphone for the purpose of recording lectures in my college classes to listen to later. I have an audio interface for my laptop, so I figured that buying a nice microphone to record lectures with would be a good idea. Yes, this microphone is cheap, but it doesn't produce any sound. I tried everything that I know and I couldn't get a signal to be picked up on my recording software. I've tested my batteries and cables to ensure they they work (and they do), but the microphone still gave me no response. Unless you have some magical powers, don't buy this. I purchased an Audio Technica ATR-55 which will hopefully finish the job that this microphone couldn't handle.
