I am very pleased with this mic and stand. I have had it for about 2 or 3 weeks. I have already used it for a live gig and have also used it for home recording. It does exactly what it is supposed to do. It does not come with a windscreen. However, you can order one from MF for less than a couple of dollars. Once I put a windscreen on this mic (the ones made by musicians gear fit perfectly) there was no more popping. It made all the differnce in the world. If you do get this mic you absolutely need to put a windscreen on it. If you read the note inside from the manufacturer it says that you shouldn't use the mic without one. It makes the mic work better and last longer. I think it should have come with a windscreen, but whatever, it was a cheap fix. I would not hesitate to buy another one of these mics. In fact, I probably will buy another one just to have on hand for a back up or in case I want to mic another instrument.

I bought two of these packages, and started using one immediately, works wonderfully. I let the other one set on the shelf for about two months before needing it. When I got it out, I found out that the mic doesn't work. I guess it is my fault for not checking it immediately, but buyer beware just the same.

This setup saved a gig I had, the stand is passable for the price, the cable doesn't glitch, and the mic can take screaming and whispering very well. The only issue is that now that I'm just using it to record scratch vocals, the pattern of its proximity effect is very strange, I either pop p's or I'm not in the right place for it to pick up.
For the price, if you acknowledge that you're getting what you're paying for, it's a great pickup if you need something quick and cheap or just need some spare equipment.

and get a mic and cable for free. That's basically what you're doing here. the stand is great and pretty sturdy. the cable is a standard mic cable. and the mic is actually built really well and has a nice, clear sound to it. i wasn't expecting much for the price, but i needed a mic for a gig. For this price, you can't go wrong. keep in mind that this is NOT PRO GEAR. but if you need a mic and your low on cash like me, you can't beat it.

My band mate and I have bought three of these sets and I receiver two more SP-1's with the mixer I perchesed. They sound amazing for their price and are well built. I finally had one g out after a year and a half (I am thinking it is the cable). It had been lying on the concrete floor in the garage for a while and had corroded and finally gave out last week. The stands are stable and well built. They can get anywhere you want a mic. I will be buying several more of these.
