High-End Audio Engine
MASSIVE's exceptional sound is the result of a newly developed and highly advanced audio engine. Three "Wave Scanning" oscillators lie at the heart of MASSIVE, generating a total of 82 individual formant-optimized wavetables and a sonic spectrum ranging from an analog to a digital character. The Wave Scanning oscillators deliver extraordinary quality and offer 3 different phase bending modes. An additional formant oscillator mode adds extra harmonics to the sound. A special "noise oscillator" is also available and the filter design is of an equally high standard.
Filters
Two excellent multi-mode filters with a total of eleven different filter types lend MASSIVE both that typical analog charm and the unmistakeable digital sound. You can crossfade between a parallel filter routing and a serial filter routing. The two filter types, "Daft" and "Scream", deserve a special mention: Daft is based on a special non-linear lowpass filter design that, when necessary, can even 'talk'. Scream, in essence, an extreme type of low-pass filter design with controllable feedback chains that interacts particularly smoothly with the input level and resonance setting.
A flexible route
The fact that MASSIVE is based on a flexible signal flow concept results in a far wider sonic range. Route the signal along a different path and the character of the sound changes instantly. The patchable feedback bus allows you to drive the filter section right into the red: the filter's output is rerouted back into input stage generating some heavy sonic flavors in the process. The bypass channel offers the possibility of mixing in a pure oscillator or noise signal directly before or after the master effects, the level of which can also be modulated.
Effects
State-of—the-art effect algorithms with up to 3 times over-sampling deliver breathtaking quality. The insert effects are polyphonic and as such are capable of following the voice pitch. The effects in MASSIVE can be inserted at various points in the signal chain. Patch various distortion, reverb, LoFi, delay, tube and other effects into the two insert and two master slots—and modulate them all at the same time.
Instant assignment
The revolutionary drag-n-drop modulation concept is simple and easy-to-use. Just drag the modulator onto the target parameter and the assignment is complete. Color-coding gives you an instant overview of all current assignments and dynamic value indicators graphically display the modulation as it occurs. Modulation has never been more intuitive.
Musical mosaics
The Performer, a new type of envelope step sequencer, lets you create modulation sequences in seconds—from fluctuating pads to pumping basslines and kicking drum grooves. Crossfade-able LFOs, morph-capable envelopes and a further, conventional step sequencer called stepper with glide function all add even more depth and variety. The mix and blend of these features allows for the quick and intuitive creation of utterly captivating sounds.
The KoreSound browser and KORE
The integrated KoreSound Browser brings a high degree of simplicity and speed to the task of finding and managing presets. Browse and filter according to a number of different sonic criteria and attributes or just enter a keyword or phrase in the free search mode—the results are displayed instantly. All 420 presets have been pre-configured for use with KORE and categorized as KoreSounds.

You can do ANYTHING with the Massive... Basses, Leads, Grooves/loops, sound FX, etc. It's crazy. I spend free time just messing with it and seeing what kinds of wacky stuff I can come up with!

Excellent synth, this is the first time I got a feeling as if I was playing analog gear, well maybe not, but you get the point. Great for all kinds of music very versatile that is. But it is "bad" for your cpu I'm running Pro Tools on MacBook Pro 2.16 dual core 2gram the most I'm able to run is 4-5 instances at a time which is pretty good considering the sound you are getting, besides you can always export audio.... well anyways a great great synth. Hope that helps.
