unreliable, inefficient, and overrated

i'm not sure if i recieved a lemon but the unit i bought kept on hamstering the crossfader and switching the buttons around and half the time when i tried connecting it to my laptop it would not connect. I even had an incident where in the middle of a gig it stopped working altogether. another quam i have with it is how inefficient the setup is. when trying to find a track on the fly i cannot search for it in traktor which is one the most overrated softwares i have used. and when i do a pitch bend using the jog wheels it does not bend near enough for me to do a transition. and after a bit of scratching it takes a second to start up again which in a gig feels like forever. Traktor itself is horrible enough and this just makes it worse. i would not recommend this to a friend. My advice is get virtual dj and the hercules rmx controller even if it costs more. in the long run its much better than using traktor with totalcontrol.

I use it with the I/O box and it works great for parties, bars, etc. I have used it for 5 months and it hasn't given me trouble, If you don't need to scratch with a vinyl setup or spend 3 grand on a dj package, but instead your looking for affordability and a great product go for it.

So I bought this about a month ago in a local shop in petaluma and I workd great! I already have a full version of numark cue and the numark virtual vinyl but this compleates the setup totally! I really enjoy the layout and feel of the knobs and the faders have a great glide to them. The ONLY downfall is I wish there was a audio output built into the device for headphones, but if you have a I/O box this isnt a problem. And aside from that the only beef with the actual controller's handling I notice a lag time between the faders and the program (when doing quick cuts from both channels it takes a half second to actualy go down and up) its kind of minor because I use my external mixer. But still a great product and good buy.

I have exchanged this item twice, therefore I know that is is not reliable for live applications. I ama mobile dj and i can't take a chance on such a product failing in the field. spend your money elswhere. Numark should know better!!
