I hit this thing up at the local store from time to time, and I'm going to have to say that I'm not impressed. The quality of the buttons, sound, and EQ is nowhere near the quality that a nice, cheap used Tascam will get you. It seems like everyday everyone wants to be a DJ, and in my opinion, that's why products like this are designed... just to steal a couple of bucks for people while giving them subpar equipment.

One thing to understand, and please don't think that I'm basing my entire rating off of this, is the abscence of pitch control. Understand this: You can not be an effective bedroom DJ without pitch control. You simply cannot. Beatmatching is an essential if you want to be taken seriously in the harsh world of amature DJing; and to "DJ Do Your Homework," you can have 2 similar sounding tracks, one at 124 bpm and one at 125 bpm. What do you need to beatmatch them to the point of spot-on perfection?... Not a jogwheel, a pitch control. Which, be forewarned, this unit does not have.

If you want to seriously hit up being a bedroom DJ but are seriously strapped for cash, get yourself a couple of gemini CD players and a cheap mixer instead... don't waste your time here.

I've had the unit for about a year now. It has paid for itself many times already. I use it to DJ clubs, parties, weddings and during breaks when my band plays. It's nearly perfect, and it sure beats lugging around cd's or vinyl. I'm going to buy another one to keep as a backup.

The iDJ is very user friendly and well worth the money. This is the first system I bought and I find the more I use it the more I’m able to produce the results comparable to a more expensive system. The secret? Natural talent. True the iDJ doesn’t afford you the ability to pitch-bend but if you know your music, hear a beat in your head and can anticipate what you feel should following while matching BPM, you’ll be acing the event. I travel all over this great nation and no one knows I’m mixing with an iDJ until they approach my booth.

The key to getting the iDJ to sound pro is knowing your music, having a natural ear for beat matching, and not succumbing to the ideals that DJs must speed up or slow down music to make it fit. Use the wealth of music you have and create the ebb and flow naturally. Don’t be lazy; you’ll have to work. Being a DJ is work! remember that!

I just bought it a few weeks ago. Over all it is a very good equipment and gets the job done, the only thing that I really did not like is that the two wheels do not work for noting they are just a waste of space. I sure wish they would be good for scratching or something.

Very pleased with this product. I did buy the iDJ2 but it only supports iTunes music on one side, so I'm back to using this one. My customers don't care if I scratch or pitch-bend anyway so this unit does the job fine.
