I can't really say enough good about the guys at Obedia. They know their stuff when it comes to digital recording, and there is so much stuff to know about digital recording! I don't have a lot of time to spend digging through manuals, pdfs or online forums that may or may not help even after hours or research. And I'm not into sitting on hold for 40 minutes waiting for support from a retailer or manufacturer who, again, may or may not help. These guys are really fair, easy to get a hold of, you can schedule calls or remote computer support, and once one Obedia rep even came to my home studio to help me sort things out. (apparently that's only if you live in the Los Angeles area, though) Honestly, Obedia has really helped me to spend my time recording music instead of struggling with software and hardware issues. Give them a try - you'll be glad you did!

I'm a newcomer to digital recording, and a bit of a scaredycat at that. These guys are exceptional. They have answered my questions quickly and have treated me with respect, no matter how basic my questions have been. They have never once given me attitude or said anything unkind about my lack of knowledge regarding digital recording.
What's more is that while online research (especially for a newbie) is good, with no direct support or structure, research is easily overwhelming. Obedia staff cuts my search time, frustration and worrying down immensely. I highly encourage anyone (espcially women) struggling with the tech side of music to give them a call.

Last year I completed building a private studio in my back yard. It has turned out wonderful to work in. With a day job though, I have to take vacation time just to have functional and solid integration of MIDI, Cubase, VST instruments, VST effects, automation, PC sound cards and whatever I decide to bring in. I then found myself procrastinating doing what I love (creating and recording music) because I know I have to deal with being a slow learner and a manual closer. So now I have this digital studio and 50% of my time seems to be getting stuck in something.
I had nothing to lose by trying Obedia. I was sitting there with a great setup but limited to analog world experience. I could not get a Korg Triton to talk to Cubase. I had working dual screens but Cubase would not drag over. Now it was time to find out what kind of support I would get. I expected an estimated wait time message and got a live engineer. I told him what was up and immediately gave me instructions to correct this. That was it. That was the answer! I was already over a week deep and had two issues knocked out in minutes.
Better yet I have had new questions that I know are going to be more challenging. What they do is offer to call back after some research. And they call back. A support connection with vast experience, that is willing to own the question until the answer is found.
As a primary drummer I hated MIDI but I understand that I can compose without having to fluently play every instrument. With a manual I would never touch MIDI. My Obedia expert spent about 10 minutes showing me how to get into MIDI recording. I learned more than enough to dig for a while with that. Once I am comfortable and ready to step it up a notch I will just call him again. What a concept!
Thanks to OBEDIA and their team I am confident that my recording sessions are backed by tech support during those stuck moments.

It's 10pm and you've just hit a major glitch with your DAW. The
problem is that your dealer is closed, the manufacturer is asleep, and you're
probably out of warrantee anyway. Oh yes, and the studio is saying it's your
gear, you fix it. Who do you call? I call Obedia. In fact, I call Obedia even if
it's brand new, 1am and under manufacturer's warranty, because they know a lot
more about what I'm doing than anybody else does. With so many new systems on
the market, it's great to know that there's a place I can get straight, honest
and timely answers.

When I rebuilt my studio I knew that much of it would have to be modernized... or to be more specific, computerized. This was a problem for me because I had no previous experience operating computers at all. I knew there would be a steep learning curve for a novice like myself. In order to make a smooth transition I knew it would be extremely important to have good technical support. I feel very lucky to have been introduced to Obedia early on. They were excellent at explaining technical information in a way that was easy to understand but more importantly they were always able to provide solutions to my problems. Now that I have learned more about computers than I ever thought I would, I still rely on their expertise. If you've got problems, no matter how big or small Obedia can solve them all.
