Another fine Peavey product

I have owned a pair of these for almost a year. I previously had two SP2-A speakers. These PR-12s have as much volume as the SP2. The downside: its a smaller speaker and does not have a great deal of bass. This is an awesome monitor also. I would recommend a sub with these to give it better bottom end. Even though they are light weight, they can withstand a betting. I had one get kicked off a stage onto the hardwood floor and it just bounced and kept going. In summery, these would be great fill speakers to go longer with larger speakers.

Hard working quality speaker

I've owned two of these for quite some time (about 4 years), taken them to various locations and they are still kicking. I use them as monitors for our musician section in our church.

Firstly, these speakers are very rugged and well crafted. They hold up to heavy usage and can take a beating.

They sound good overall. The highs are very crisp and the lows can thump, but I wouldn't overpower with lows because you can blow the speaker. The mids are a little muddy, so I wouldn't try to use them for instrument mains. They work well as monitors though.

I did use them for vocal mains as an emergency before because the powered Mackies that I had blew. I was surprised at how well they handled the main vocals. The vocals came out clean and crisp. If I had to, I would use them again for vocal mains but like I said they work wonderful as monitors.

I don't really have a need to get anymore because they hold up so well but if they ever got damaged, lost, or stolen, I would get them again in a heartbeat.

Great Value Rugged and Clear

I'm a full-time professional performing a variety of gigs (Live Band, Karaoke & DJ) averaging 9 shows every week in a variety of clubs. People are always complimenting me on my terrific sound. Speakers are only one part of great sound. I do use the Peavey PR Series exclusively and currently own ten pairs of them simply because they're lightweight & easy to carry, they're practically bulletproof and they deliver fabulous sound across the spectrum. Just check the specs. In 6 years of very hard daily use, pushing 95 to 105 decibles, I've lost only one voice coil and two tweeters, which were easy to replace. I use them in small, big and some really big venues as well a outdoor events but no, I wouldn't use them as mains in an arena. It comes down to this, if you want to invest money in other things besides a set of speakers and make life easier on yourself, these are your speakers.

I am not getting any younger and was looking for a lighter speaker than my yamahas without sacrificing the sound quality. These Peavey PR-12's do the job. Our band plays small to medium venues and these speakers handle the job very well with excellent bass response and clarity for a speaker of this very manageable weight. Very happy picker.

The PR12 s are significantly better than the other brands of this type and price. They will get the job done for your vocals in a small band in a medium setting. i don't think i would advise running your kick and bass, however, but the light weight and ease of use really comes in handy.
