Good quality built cab with poor sound

I bought this thinking that was getting a good deal. The speaker is very quit, my mains pumped out more bass than these. I was very dissapointed when I plugged it in. The cab is huge and very impressive, it's built very sturdy, but the speaker is very quiet with no back bone. If you plan on using this outside, it will not stand a chance even if doubled.

Awesome Speakers

I own a pair of these subs and they work great. I run them with a Behringer EP2500 bridged which pushes about 1200 watts per cabinet. I use the SP118's with the new SP2's and the system sounds awesome in a small club setting. For outside venues, one 18 on each side will be a little less than desirable but it still sounds OK as long as the audience is not too far away from the stage. For the price, support and quality, I highly recommend them. I do wish they had two speakon connectors per speaker so I can parallel them speakon to speakon!

Best subs I've ever owned. Immaculate resonance, and perfect reproduction of kick drum (even with a cheap microphone) not to mention the bellowing, warm lows you get from synth pads when activating 808's. Great for any type of live applications. I own four and run them really close to program power recommendations with no pop or hum when running them hot. Peavey SP series is the biggest bang for your buck, by far.
