Good sounding headphones. Not great construction.

I have had these headphones for about 3 years now, and I can say that the sound quality on them is still phenomenal. I take them with me everywhere my music travels; by car, plane, boat, et cetera. The one thing that kind of irked me is the quality of construction- kind of flimsy made of almost all plastic. I've been a home audio enthusiast for some years now, and I only used to purchase Klipsch/Denon for home entertainment and Pioneer for mobile audio (car) and then I invested in these headphones.

Don't get me wrong, I love them to death, and they are well worth the money, I just wish Pioneer would step up with their next PRO-DJ set and construct a more sturdy set of headphones. However, I can gladly say all I have had to do was repair the headphone jack with a new one once and to repair the ball-joints where the speakers themselves rotate.

These headphones are amazing; not perfect, though. The only thing that really bothers me is that they seem to crackle at higher volumes, especially at higher frequencies. I haven't had any problems with the construction of them - they're still in almost perfect condition after 4 years of heavy use. I had owned a pair of Sony MDRV700's before these, and they basically disintegrated after 2 years. The aforementioned crackling problem diminishes quite a bit after some use, of course, but I'd still like the option to make my ears bleed without the sound quality decreasing. Other than that, these are excellent headphones. Highly recommended.

I DJ proffesionally 2-3 times a month but use the headphones at least 4 times a month at home. the sound is alright, but the mid tone reproduction was lacking and muffled. In addition, they are relatively heavy compared to many others that I have owned. Worst of all, the construction that attaches the cans to the band is flimsy plastic which broke after 4.5 months of average use. The only positive thing to say is the seal around the ear is quite good and seals out a lot of noise.

Excellent sound wise and you can wear them for hours due to how light they are. Thats there downfall.... construction, If I could upload a pic of what mine look like after only 6 months of use you'd know what I was talking about. Completely destroyed, I'm not pro but I use them everyday. The cord pulled out of the ear cup and is just dangling there by a few wires... still works pefectly though beleive it or not. The Black pieces on the sides come off on a daily basis but you can just put them back on no big deal. The housing in the back that protects the wires fell off and thats where their support is so the whole headband is now coming apart. But all in all I would buy the same pair if they wheren't so expensive. I like how light they are alot, but not sturdy enough for me I guess. They just feel cheaply made which is something pioneer isn't known for. Their hardware is the best of the best but head phones need work. In reality Just beefed up a little but then you would be adding weight, so I don't know. Cant have both worlds but I would suggest them depending on what you use them for.

These headphones are perfect for any style of type of DJ. Personally for the electronic and hip hop I play, being able to hear the low bass sound is invaluable. I do believe that they should run a little cheaper but if you have the money they are the best in the buisness. They are comfortable and they look amazing I highly recommend them to anyone.
