Tracked by Joe on a Neve 8028 console to analog 2" tape at the legendary Sound City Studios, the drum samples have been taken to the next level—fully mix processed, without losing any velocity layers or resolution, Joe has EQ'd, compressed, and performed his magic using the same console and equipment he uses when mixing for other artists. In addition, in a moment of evil genius, Joe patched the kick and snare though his classic Helios console—both through the line inputs to give them added warmth, and through the mic inputs to give a modern distorted option, offering a total of three wicked options for the kick and snare.
