The PreSonus TubePre Microphone Preamp lets you add character to your signal by varying the amount of gain and tube drive. A 12AX7 tube in this single-channel mic preamp fattens your signal while dual-servo gain stages let you simultaneously output to your amp and console. Sterling specs include 10Hz-80kHz frequency response, a 94dB noise floor, and >90dB S/N ratio. Capacitor-free circuitry and wide dynamic control give you a big boost without noise. Includes 48V phantom power, phase reverse, 20dB pad, and 80Hz rumble filter. A large VU meter with a cool blue backlight keeps you informed. A satisfying buy!

I am quite pleased with my presonus tube pre so far. I have used it as a pre for an acoustic guitar and it sounds amazing in comparrison to the digi 002 pre's.

There is a small amount of noise in the form of a hiss at higher volumes, but even that is worth the end result.

Definetely has a fair amount of extra features such as phase inerting, a 20db pad, and phantom power that help this box get a high score in my book. All I can say, is that this is a great buy.

It does amplify your signal and keeps the noise minimized... I bought it to warm up my vocals but I didnt have time to play with it yet. I only had it for 2 days so I probably shouldnt be doing a review yet.. But it does amplify the signal and keeps it clean but I'm hoping I can get some warmth out of this.

Just recently I've started putting my fiddle through the board. It was suggested that I use this preamp to at least equalize the impedance from the pick up to the board itself. Does more than that. Fiddle sounds crystal clear and it brings out the natural sound of the violin. Would recommend this of acoustic instruments forthwith.

this preamp i only use for vocals, when i got my mic, it came with it, and i immediately used it, so i didnt know really waht it did, until i unplugged it from my mic and just ran my mic strait into my mixer, and it sounded terrible, i have to say that this makes all your vocals sound a million times better, especially when you use a condenser mic. amazing product.

I suggest workink it in XLR only, 1/4 inch sounds a bit dry like it wont work well. XLR sounds great. For guitarists just buy a 1/4 inch to xlr adapter and you will be amazed. Vocals sound so much fatter. Fatter is better in music. I GREATLY RECCOMEND THIS PRODUCT TO ANY ONE THAT IS STArtING in this business. GREAT QUALITY FOR THE GREAT PRICE.
