I bought a GX3 to power some high end home speakers with horrendously low sensitivity. I have owned several audiophile amps and like the fact that $300 can buy so much clean power, but the fan in the GX3 is really unacceptably loud for home use. According to QSC tech support, the fan is temperature controlled, but it idles like an outboard motor. A decent PWM fan could have covered the range of cfm necessary at different drive levels. In retrospect, I regret this purchase.

I'll say the same thing that I said in the GX5 review. This is a very high quality amp for what you pay for it. I'm a loyal QSC fan and took a chance on this amp thinking it couldn't be that good for the money. I was wrong. Really. It's THAT good. If you don't need to bridge your amp or run 2-ohms this one is a no-brainer. QSC's are great and their 6-year warranty backs it up. Don't even think about it. Buy it.

A lot of power for the price. The amp feels very sturdy, its fairly light, and it sounds great. The customer support is excellent-I called QSC with a quick question about the input wiring and was able to talk with a knowledgeable tech right away.

I bought this amp because I needed an amplifier that would power my speakers for a party I had a few days ago. I went and picked up one of these qsc gx3's and I have to tell you they are incredibly clear. I played it at not even half way volume for 4 hours out side in the heat, with the sun beating on it and it wouldn't over heat. I want to see how well it does when I have it cranked up almost all the way. There was only one problem and that was my fault I should have gotten the QX5 I needed more power this only putts out 300 Watts at 8ohms I need around 500.
