Our lil band primarily plays classic rock. We recently had to replace our mains and were talked into trying these speakers. Were totally blown away. Great sound and plenty of volume. We liked the speakers so much, we traded in our amps and and crossover and bought the subs to match. Again blown away by the concert like sound produced by the combo. We also love the plug and play ability gained from running powered speakers. We simply EQ and allow the built crossover to work and it works great.

If your looking for quality speakers, these are worth a try.

I bought a pair of these to use for a small worship team in our church. Being a long time JBL fan, I originally wanted powered JBL's. In this class of powered enclosure, you have 3 choices (in my opinion): JBL, QSC, and Mackie. The JBL's use Crown power amps and overall the JBL's are perhaps a little better, but the QSC's cost several hundred less. I think these are better than the Mackie's. I've had them for about a year (when they first came out). They sound great. This weekend, we played outside. It was over 105 degrees and they worked great all afternoon in the heat. Careful, they weight 100lb each and are built very solid. They have lots of plastic, but the plastic is very hard and can take a beating, and no amp and thick speaker cables to mess with. I built 2 custom dollies for them with wheels to roll them around. The packing material makes a nice template for use with a jig saw. We use them both sitting on the stage or on stands. The On Stage stands hold these hefty speakers pretty well, just check the weight rating on the stands before you buy. They don't have any hi/low settings, and only have XLR input. But I haven't felt like they lacked in features. They also have an XLR pass through so you can chain multiple units together, and they have a gain knob to tweak the volume. Overall, Fantabulous!!!

...to whatever it is you were using before these things, promise. The combination of detail, clarity, power/headroom and sturdiness represented by the HPR152i is unmatched by any other powered speaker...and I believe I've about tried them all. I've covered everything up to medium-sized rooms and outdoor events with these things and it seems they've never broken a sweat. I know it's common for people to give glowing "reviews" about mediocre products, but these are the real deal...period!

There are few times when I buy a product of any kind and I feel like I got more than I paid for. In the case of the QSC HPR 152i, I feel like I got way more than I paid for. Simply put, these speakers are breathtaking and I believe they represent an achievement on the part of QSC. I've been running a aystem with two subs and two pole-mounted 2-ways...a really good system at that, and the HRP152i simply blow that system out of the water all by themselves. The difference isn't small either, and it applies to about every aspect of performance. Quality of sound, power, definition/detail and apparent build quality.

I had wanted to simplify my setup without giving up the all-important low-end necessary for "impact". Obviously, running a system with no subs and comparing it to one with two well-powered subs had me thinking I was going to have to compromise some. The HPR 152i actually put out as much or more lf's...and it's also a tighter low end as well. Knowing a little about the basic physics involved, I don't really know how this is possible. Bottom line, I don't need to know how they did it...just enjoy the fact that they did. The quality of the sound is of course as important as the sheer volume (and there's almost limitless headroom here)...and the HPR152i will not disappoint. These things are VERY "hi-fi", to the point where the typical (or even higher-priced) cabs in this general category sound like they're kidding. Two of these things will fill a good-sized room with a crowd with all kinds of lovely db's. Go ahead, put the whole band through them and not ever worry about what'll be coming out the front-end. In fact...before you consider a mixer upgrade, try these things. Your mixer will sound like it never has before.

The HPR152i is not a "lightweight"...and at 100lbs or so, don't expect to toss them around. But the mass here is probably playing at least some secondary role in the sound of these cabs. So get one of those flat-folding hand trucks and you're golden (or ask one of the other band members to get off their duff). QSC also has a 12" version that is significantly smaller and lighter for those who don't mind the response of a 12. I would bet that cab is great too In short, this thing is in a class all it's own.
