I bought this card instead E-Mu 1616m, and I regret now very much. I use Windows XP. There are always problem with this card - with samplers, like buzz, and crashes with Cubase, and many more problems with teh sound. I had E-Mu Tracker Pre USB before, and I never have the problems like this. Not recommended. If anybody want, I can sell her. It's too expensive, and not good card, like the others said. The stuff? Only Magix samplitude 10 Se, and drivers on CD. There's no paper documentation.

After some initial issues with crackle on playback, (not due to the RME) this card has pretty much lived up to all my expectations. Basically just a mixer and recording/playback interface. No other software packaged. What the card lacks in fluff it abounds in quality. Converters are very nice indeed. Drivers run in the background; mixer is available at all times, with no lag when switching between DAW and mixer. If I had to point out any potential issues, you have to chose to go with all balanced input/output cables with the bal XLR breakout cable (optional and a pricy upgrade to samll studios), or all RCA cables for the included cable. No 1/4 in/out! I end up swapping the breakout quite often, and it gets annoying after about say twice. That being said, I still am very pleased overall.

Pro audio card with great AD converters. Warm, natural sound,no digital sharpness. Great company support, high quality craftmaship. Only two analog ins and no preamps but higly expandable. Total mix feature is great for those who monitor without ext. mixer. Expensive solution for pure hobbist but very affordable for commercial PC based project studios because you can make pro sounding recordings with these thing.
