Cutting thru the mix...

You can turn the gain all the way up on the board and this mike gives NO feedback. You would think there is no mike connected. When I compared the SM-58 in our pratice studio to the 822S in a board where all the EQ was set flat I prefered the 58 (and so did the band members). The second I increases the EQ controls this mike came alive and surpassed the 58 in tone, clearity and sheer volume with no feedback. When you try to EQ a 58 it booms and feedsback. There's a new standard in town.

I bought these for my Karaoke rig, and they rock. Less feed back and full bodied tone. One fell out of my hands on to a ceramic tile floor and still works fine other than a small paint chip near the connector. Somthing else that attracted me to these is the quiet on/off switch. These mics are well made and built to last. I also own a senheiser e 815, and I noticed the e 822 has a few more windings than the e 815, the e822's are a tad bit more sensitive and feedback rejection is a hair better. so if you own a pair of e 815's, and think these are a big improvement, save your money and get an e 835! Otherwise, I can't see myself paying anymore money for a great sounding mic. These are it for me! Well done Sennheiser!

A vocalist's/musician's dream...

...probably the best buy I have ever made. These are tough, all metal mics that have the sound any vocalist or musician would dream of. I haven't had the chance to use them in any instrument applications, but my guess is that, with the correct tweaking, they would do very well.

For the price, you would have to be stupid not to buy a few right now...seriously, they're that good.

I plan on keeping these for a long time...

Used these mics while doing a Folk Festival, very dynamic, really nice tone to them, also very well built and can take a beating. Very good for most vocal types and excel in tone compared to 57/58's

Good value Microphones

I bought this 2-pak a while back because I needed a couple of cheap microphones to use as spares. I had some other Sennheiser gear so I assumed these would be OK for the money. I was surprised by how well made these Microphones are. They sound great through my PA and are very sturdy. I try to take care of my gear by packing it all up neatly after a gig but sometimes there isn't enough time and these mics periodically end up someplace that they shouldn't like mixed in with the cables. But they take the beating well. I would stack these up against SM58's anytime and for Mic'ing a guitar amp, they are way better than SM57's in my opinion. So for the price, you can't go wrong in my opinion. I would definitely buy more of these if I needed more Microphones. I like the fact that I can switch them off when I'm not using them also. Saves me from having to mute from the board and then remember to unmute.
