Great Bang For The Buck

Features - Just enough but plenty for the active musician. The additional gain before feedback is a huge plus. The internal shock mounts are a Godsend.

Quality - I have owned this mic for a little under a year. It has been used for 2 to 3 practices a week at 3 to 5 hours per practice. Also, it is my go-to mic for live performances. No studio recording time yet but that is in the plan for the near future. This thing has been dropped a handful of times and only shows one light paint/finish scar and works like the day it arrived.

Value - We all know there are better mics out there but for the price this mic is tough to beat. As for value, to me it is nearly priceless. It crushes the SM58, hands down. You are going to be hard pressed to find an equal or better mic at this price point.

Overall - I own quite a few mics... SM58, SM57 (i like it better than the 58 even for vocals), many Audio Technicas including the Pro 61, Senheiser 835, 935 and 945 among countless others. My other 2 band mates use Pro 61's and they are fantastic for the price too. But the 945 is noticeably louder, clearer and is far less prone to feedback. The Pro 61 can be noisy when handled whereas the 945 is dead quiet.

During practices, our drummer is set up less than 3 feet away from me, dead center. I am able to use the 945 without worrying too much about picking up his kick, toms, snare and crashes while singing... or not singing. Even at retail, what else could one ask for or expect out of a moderately priced mic? Enough already. If you need a great mic without breaking the piggy bank, quit your review search now and go get one.

It Takes a Beating

I'm in a touring Metal/Metalcore band so shows get kind of crazy at times and the road does take a toll on equipment after a while regardless of how careful you are. This mic sounds just as good now as the day I bought it about 3 years ago. It picks up the sounds and tones of my voice magically. I sing quite a bit in our music so don't think I'm saying it makes my wide range of screams or growls sound flawless, because even when it does do that it makes my singing voice sound crisp and smooth. Great mic recomend it to anyone for any genre.

I have been using SM58's since 1974 and was ready for newer technology. After reading the advantages of Supercardioid Dynamic mikes, I came across the e945 and bought it. I've been using it for 7 months and love the higher gain. I can't tell you the last time I had a feedback problem. I am one of 3 lead singers in a band and my voice cuts through the mix like never before! Serious singers should never settle for a cheap microphone. For the $ the e945 was well worth what I paid.

This Mic is awesome

I have been a dedicated SM58 mic for around 30 years. I just received this Mic and it blew the SM58 away. This Mic makes the vocals so much easier. You don't have to make as much of an effort to sing. I know that if anyone that has an SM58 and purchases this Mic, you will put the SM58 to the side and use this one. I have sang Country, Rock & Roll, Praise and Worship. I wish I would've had a Mic like this years ago.

Great sound, but fragile...

As far as quality of sound goes, this microphone cannot be beat for the price. I'm sure that for most genres this is absolutely the way to go, but I am a member in a hardcore/metalcore band, a genre which requires a bit of durability out of equipment. One night during a show I dropped the mic, one of a very few times I've ever dropped it, and it no longer works. I took it in to a local music store and they were unable to diagnose or fix the problem. So great sound, but not all that durable.
